Chapter 1
(Chloe POV)

I sat on the couch, legs beneath me as I flipped through the pages of my Cosmopolitan. I let out a heavy sigh and slammed the magazine shut. Why is he so stupid? I felt the couch dip and I turned my head to see who sat down.

Oliver, decked out in his Green Arrow gear, leaned back, placed an arm over the back of the couch and stretched out his legs. He grinned in my direction.

“Hey there sidekick, what’s up?”

I glared at him.

“What have I told you about calling me that Oliver?”

His face looked thoughtful, but I could see mischief in his eyes as he raised an eyebrow in my direction.

“That I should do it more often?”

My glare never wavered and he sighed.

“Oh fine, I won’t call you sidekick anymore. You know, normally you’re not so touchy. Everything okay Watchtower?”

I groaned as I turned my body in his direction, but this time there was no irritation in my voice when I spoke.

“What’s wrong with using my name Ollie?”

He shrugged and his lips lifted in half a smirk.

“My nicknames are a sign of affection. As wonderful of a name as Chloe is, I don’t know…I just feel like there is an appropriate time to use your real name but now isn’t that time.”

I shook my head, but felt myself smiling.

“I swear, sometimes your logic does a number on my brain.”

He chuckled and his arm fell over me in a friendly gesture. I moved closer so I could lean on him slightly. I felt the leather beneath my cheek and I scrunched up my nose. Oliver and the rest of the members of the Justice League had just gotten back from a successfully completed mission.

I spent the last three hours in Oliver’s Penthouse in Metropolis, guiding them through building after building to finish shutting down the last of the 33.1 facilities. I glanced over at Metropolis’ newest League of superheroes and watched as they compared battle wounds.

Bart, Victor and A.C., were currently trying to figure out who had the most cuts and bruises while Clark looked on and laughed. Look at him…my big dumb alien…what’s he waiting for…the past few months Clark and I have been spending copious amounts of time together.

More so then usual, especially now that Clark and I have been moonlighting for the Justice League. I broke it off with Jimmy about two months ago…things just weren’t going anywhere and I felt bad wasting his time.

Since then I’ve come to realize that I have once again fallen for my best friend…or maybe I never got over him. Who knows…and for a while there I thought there was a strong possibility that he was finally falling for me too. And then it happened…

Lana Lang made her way back into town. The strange thing is…as happy as Clark was to see her, he did not pursue more than a friendship with her while she was in town. And yet the minute she got here…it was like anything that was happening between Clark and I came to a permanent stand still.

Even now that she’s been gone for about two weeks, things still haven’t picked up from where they were and it was truly starting to grate on my nerves. I sighed and Oliver nudged me with his leg. I turned away from the guys and toward him.

“Hmm.”

“What’s on your mind Goldilocks?”

I shrugged and glanced back over at Clark. The arm around me pulled me closer to him and he spoke in a low voice.

“Trouble in paradise?”

I made a ‘hmphing’ noise and pouted slightly.

“In order for there to be trouble in paradise, there would have to be a paradise first.”

“I thought the two of you were heading in that direction.”

“Yeah, I did too, but I guess I was wrong.”

I looked back at Oliver and there was a frown on his face as he glanced toward Clark. There was a look of confusion on his face.

“That’s weird. I know he cares about you…”

He leaned toward my ear and his voice lowered more.

“And I know he’s over Lana…maybe he’s waiting for the right moment?”

I snorted.

“Yeah…when I’m married with three kids?”

Oliver chuckled and I sulked.

“It’s not funny Oliver. Sometimes I wonder if I’m just wasting my time.”

I felt him sigh against me.

“I don’t know about that Chlo, but what I do know is you’re not the kind of girl who gives up so easily.”

I turned my head up, gave him half a smile and he winked at me. Bart’s voice broke our stare.

“Yo, what cha doin over there with the boss man Chloilicious?”

I felt the rumbling of Oliver’s laughter under my head and I rolled my eyes. I smirked and clutched a hand to Oliver’s chest. I spoke in a saucy, but playful voice before winking in Bart’s direction.

“Wouldn’t you like to know…”

It was a joke of course and it had Victor and A.C. laughing while Bart sped over to us and waggled his eyebrows in my direction before speaking.

“Actually, what do you think about a little show and tell sweet cheeks?”

I shook my head and swatted at him playfully, but he zoomed out of my reach. Bart was horrible sometimes…but I know all his jokes were in good fun...I glanced at Clark. The expression on his face caught me off guard. He didn’t seem to find the joke funny; actually by the tension in his jaw I’d say he thought it was just the opposite.

I rose slowly from the couch and cleared my throat.

“Okay boys, lets go, the fun and games are over. It’s time to get out of your gear and get back into civilian clothes so we can all head home.”

They nodded and I watched as Victor, Bart and A.C. made their way into the back room. Oliver was still sitting on the couch looking at the ceiling when Clark walked up to me. I gave him a warm smile.

“Hey there. You did good tonight.”

He grinned.

“You didn’t do so bad yourself. We wouldn’t have been able to get through there without you.”

I felt my cheeks heat up and I shrugged.

“We still on for that movie fest tonight?”

He nodded.

“Definitely. Just let me shower and change and then we can go back to the farm…or Talon, whichever is better.”

I grinned.

“Ooh the farm.”

“Sounds good to me. Hey Oliver mind if I grab a shower real quick?”

I glanced at Oliver, who looked at us and nodded.

“Sure Clark. Mi casa es su casa.”

“Thanks. I’ll be quick Chlo.”

I nodded and watched as he jogged off in the other direction. I moved back over to the couch where Oliver was sprawled out eyes closed. I crossed my arms over my chest and stood in front of him. When he didn’t say anything I kicked him gently in his green boot.

He opened an eye.

“Can I help you?”

“Why are you just laying here like that? Don’t you want to shower and get out of your gear too?”

He nodded.

“It’s the first thing I plan on doing as soon as you squatters are gone.”

I made a face and he grinned. I plopped back down on the couch next to him and picked up my discarded magazine from earlier. I casually flipped through the pages and then grunted before tossing it back on the couch.

That’s when I saw it. Five words that caught my eye. How To Make Him Yours...I squinted to get a better look. I grabbed the magazine up and turned to the designated page. As I read over it a slow smile spread across my face. How did I not see this when I was reading the magazine earlier…this is perfect.

I turned quickly and the movement got Oliver’s attention. He opened his eyes and raised an eyebrow.

“What’s with all the moving?”

I gave him an innocent smile and he sat up straight. I could see apprehension on his face.

“Uh oh…I know that look. What did I miss?”

“Oliver we’re good friends…right?”

He gave me a disapproving look before answering.

“Yes Chloe, we’re good friends.”

“Friends who help each other out with projects and…missions?”

At this point he folded his arms across his chest and nodded.

“Yeah, but you already know that, so what’s going through that head of yours hmm?”

I grinned.

“I need your help with something. I think I’ve finally found a way to open up Clark’s eyes and give him that little push he needs.”

I could see his interest pique.

“And how’s that?”

I held up the magazine and pointed. He took it, read the front, gave me an amused look, and then flipped until he got to the page. He looked up at my grin and shook his head.

“You’re crazy.”

I nodded. Because lets face it occasionally I could do some crazy things.

“Does that mean you won’t help me?”

The next time he looked at me I could see a glint in his eye as he smirked. The mischief was back…

“What do I get out of it?”

I frowned.

“My gratitude?”

He shook his head.

“Sorry, not enough Blondie.”

“What do you want?”

His cocky smile returned.

“A date.”

That didn’t seem like a bad deal. I could find him a date. I smiled and nodded.

“That’s no big deal. I can find you a date.”

I heard him chuckle as he shook his head.

“No Chloe, I want a date with you.”

I gave him a startled look.

“Why?”

He shook his head.

“No questions. Yes or no?”

I opened my mouth and then closed it. A date with Oliver…I suppose it’s not the worst thing in the world…and besides it can completely fit into what we’ll be doing…I grinned and held out my hand. He shook it as I spoke.

“Operation Snag Clark Kent begins this Monday.”

Oliver laughed before he spoke.

“Let the games begin…”

  3. I read only a little but the idea like me so much. I hope you do Chlark in the end. That Chloe plays with Oliver to open Clark's eyes can be so funny, I hope Chloe was sincere with him. That Chloe can be trapped in her own game is other thing that can happen.
I like Chlark together because they have a long story and a years friendship that could be the start of a deep romance.
But It's you story and you can do that you want. I only hope Lana don't destroy the things.

  4. Only other thing if it happens in season 8 I hope Chloe was not Brainiac infected, or she have no relation with a intergalactic apocalyptic one called Davis. I hate so much all this things that happened at Chloe in season 8 so I hope it was an refreshing alternative reality.

  7. You do know that this idea of hers is absolutely insane, right? It's never going to work. Clark and Ollie get along sketchily at best, and I don't care how many kryptonite darts the Jolly Green Archer has stuffed in his quiver... it's going to end badly for him.

    Sigh, they never learn... :-)

  8. Gryf-

Oh, she's completely insane...and Oliver is even crazier for going along with it. Who really wants to get Clark mad? Sheesh...not me LoL. :-)
