(Chloe POV)

I glanced around the office once more before walking out and locking up. I made my way to the elevator, pressed the button and waited. There’s a Justice League meeting in twenty-five minutes and I told the guys I’d be there. The elevator dinged, I got in, and waited as it took me to the lobby.

The door slid open, I walked out, pulled my coat around me tighter, and made my way outside. I glanced at the sky as a loud boom of thunder sounded. Metropolis has been having a wave of rain storms lately…not too fun when you spend a good deal of your time walking around.

I saw lightening crackle through the sky followed by another boom of thunder. I jogged down the block toward my car. I could see it in front of me and right before I reached in my pocket to grab the keys my cell phone rang. I dug into my pocket took out my phone, flipped it open, put it against my ear as I reached back in for my keys.

“Hello.”

“Hey Chlo.”

“Hey Clark, what’s up?”

“I was just wondering if you were gonna make it to the meeting.”

I smiled as I ‘blooped’ the car and got in.

“Yeah, I’m on my way now. Just got in the car.”

“Okay, good. I was thinking, maybe after the meeting you could come back to the farm with me. It’s another nasty night out…I thought we could continue our movie marathon or something.”

I grinned as I started the car. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Clark Kent is an alien from a far off planet. We’ve been casually dating for a few weeks and so far things are going pretty well. Earlier in the week we decided to have a movie marathon like we used to back in high school.

Unfortunately our movie night was interrupted by a call from the JL…they needed our help with a mission so movie night was put on hold.

“I think that sounds like a feasible plan. When I get to Oliver’s we’ll work it out. I’ll drive us back to Smallville and then you can run us to the farm.”

I heard him groan slightly.

“Driving back takes forever Chloe…”

I rolled my eyes. Sometimes Clark could be such a baby.

“It doesn’t take that long and I’m not leaving my car in Metropolis again. I hate having to rely on other people to get anywhere and before you say anything, I know you don’t mind running me back and forth, but I mind.”

I heard a click on the phone and I took it away from my ear and glanced at the screen for a second. One new text message…hmm I wonder who that’s from.

“You still there Chlo?”

“Yeah, sorry Clark. Listen I just got a new text and I need to check it, plus I forgot my headset in the office so I don’t want to stay on my phone. I’ll be there soon okay?”

“Alright…I’ll see you soon Chlo.”

“See you soon.”

I took the phone, hit the end button and opened the text message. I glanced down quickly and read it.

Chloe-
I’ve got information for you…meteor infected kids need help…meet me on the roof of the Daily Planet.
-A

Andrea…I closed the phone and made a right at the next light heading toward the Daily Planet. I wonder what kind of information she dug up this time. Ever since the whole debacle with Snake and Lionel Luthor, Andrea has been trying her best to redeem herself.

So, I’ve been doing what I can for the past two years to help her from time to time in the name of truth, justice, and all that jazz…I’m almost surprised that she hasn’t run into Oliver and the team since she’s been crusading around.

Oh well, everybody does things their own way and Andrea knows Clark doesn’t approve of how she handled things last time around. He’d probably be a little upset if he knew I was still helping her out…but we’ve grown closer over the past two years and I consider her a good friend.

Everyone needs someone to confide in and I’m all she has…I turned left and glanced around for parking. I sighed. This is definitely something I don’t miss about working here…there’s never any parking. I finally found a spot a few blocks away. I parked, got out and headed toward the Daily Planet.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Clark’s number. Two rings later he picked up.

“Hey Chlo, you here yet?”

“No, I was just calling to let you know I’m running a little late. I have an errand that I completely forgot about, but I’ll be there soon. I just didn’t want you to worry.”

I could hear the smile in his voice when he spoke.

“Thanks for letting me know. I’ll tell the guys and I’ll do my best to save you some pizza…but you know how they get, especially Bart”

I chuckled lightly.

“Yeah, you’re telling me. Okay I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Bye Chlo.”

I closed the phone and a shiver ran up my spine. I glanced around, but the street was dark and no one was there. I shook my head. Sometimes I swear I’m one of the most paranoid people around…it must be all the crap we deal with on a daily basis.

I was a few feet away from the front door of the Daily Planet when I heard tires squel behind me. I turned my head around and saw a black van pull up on the sidewalk a few feet away. The door slid open and two guys jumped out and moved in my direction.

I felt my heart beat speed up as I ran for the front door. I was a few steps away when one of the guys grabbed me from behind and started pulling me back. I was struggling against him and I reached for my purse. I always carry my taser when I’m not with Clark, just in case…

The second guy knocked my purse out of my hands to the ground I cursed and kicked at him. They lifted me clean off the ground and carried me back toward the van I opened my mouth, but before anything could come out a hand clasped over it.

“Don’t let her scream…if she even whispers his name he’ll be here before we can get her anywhere.”

I glanced in the direction of the voice and saw Tess standing there smirking at me. I glared in her direction and bit the guy who had his hand over my mouth. He cursed and moved it.

“You stupid bitch!”

He went to hit me, but Tess’ voice stopped him.

“Leave her. No bruising the merchandise.”

“You won’t get away with this…”

She chuckled.

“I already have…”

I opened my mouth, but his hand clamped over me again and I glared at him. Lovely…just another night in the world of Chloe Sullivan…how am I gonna get out of this one…

(Andrea POV)

I glanced at my watch and frowned. Chloe should be here by now…something isn’t right. I heard tires squealing and I moved to the edge of the roof and glanced down. I saw the van pull up on the curb as two thugs got out and grabbed a girl.

I squinted and then my eyes widened. Chloe…They were dragging her toward the van and a woman in a business suit was watching. I jumped off the building, pressed a button and a wire shot up and latched on to the edge of the building.

I landed on the ground smoothly with a thud. Three heads turned in my direction. I grinned.

“No one messes with my friends.”

I ran forward punch the guy holding Chloe’s legs. He let go of her and stumbled. I punched him and his body hit the ground. I spun around and the woman glared at me. I heard a muffled cry and turned toward Chloe. She was struggling against the guy who now had a knife to her throat.

She stepped on his foot, he hissed in pain and then she kicked back into his shin. He stumbled and let her go. I ran over as he moved back in her direction and slammed my fist into him hard. He hit the ground and we turned back toward the woman, but she was gone.

I frowned and glanced back at Chloe. She was shaking her head and brushing off her clothes.

“You okay?”

She nodded and gave me a smile.

“Yeah, thanks to you. Nice timing by the way.”

“I saw from the roof. Got down as soon as I could. She’s gone…we should probably look for her.”

Chloe made a face and grunted.

“No need. It was Tess Mercer, the woman who took over Luthor-Corp and the Daily Planet when Lex went missing. This isn’t the first time she’s pulled something like this and I’m sure it won’t be the last.”

I shook my head.

“Well as long as you’re okay.”

I handed her a folder and she took it from me. I watched her open it and flip through a few of the papers. Her eyes widened.

“Where’d you get all this information?”

I grinned.

“I have my sources…”

She raised an eyebrow, but smiled.

“Well thank you. I’ll make sure this get’s taken care of. How have things been? You doing okay? Staying on the straight and narrow?”

I laughed.

“Things are bumpy…I guess the road to redemption is paved with obstacles, but I’m handling things. You? How’s Clark doing?”

“That’s good. Clark’s doing alright. He’s out there helping people…and I think that helps him…”

I nodded.

“Yeah, I heard about the Superman…good for him.”

She was about to open her mouth when her phone rang and she sighed.

“That’s probably him now. I’m supposed to meet up with the guys…”

I waved her off.

“Well go, I’ll be in touch.”

“Call me the next time you’re in town for more than a few hours…I’ll take you to lunch.”

“I smiled. You got it girl…well I better get going. Hasta luego…”

I grabbed back onto the wire, pressed another button, and zoomed up. When I first decided to make amends for what I did…I didn’t think I’d be able to handle it, but Chloe was there for me and she still is…she’s a good person…the world is lucky to have her…

(Chloe POV)

I grinned as I watched her zoom up the building. I flipped open my phone and held it to my ear as I started to walk back toward the car.

“Hey Clark, I’m on my way now.”

“Okay, I was getting worried.”

I smiled as I climbed into my car.

“You worry too much Kent.”

“Did you get your errand done?”

“I did.”

“Good…so I’ll see you soon?”

“You sure will Farm boy.”

I could hear the smile in his voice.

“Okay, I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Bye.”

I closed the phone and pulled the car out onto the street. Well tonight has been just another night in the crazy life of Chloe Sullivan…I swear I run into attempted kidnappers more than anyone I know…but tonight was closer then I like to get.

Thank god for Andrea…I do pretty good on my own, but it’s nice to have a group of friends with super powers…especially in this business…most people would think my luck is amazing. Half the time the guys don’t know how I manage to get out of the situations I get myself into…

But that’s easy…I grinned to myself as I pulled up in front of Oliver’s building, parked, and stepped out of the car before handing the valet my keys. I get by with a little help of my friends…

  3. Very good!

I like this stories that all ends fine for Chloe... with help of her friends, of course.

Justice is one of my favourite episodes and it's a peaty Andrea don't come to be Chloe friend from then or united the JL.

And of course as Chlarker I like the Chlark phonecalls.

    Very good written...but I don't hope less.
