Waking Up in Vegas Chapter (8/15)

Chapter 8

Chloe stared up at the house her eyes wide. When she suggested they live at Queen Manor she hadn’t realized it was so…large. Oliver had mentioned it was big, but she didn’t realize how big. She swallowed hard and took a deep breath.

They were starting a new chapter in their life and she wouldn’t let the house intimidate her…it was just a house. She shifted on the long driveway taking in the architecture of the building. It was tan brick with a charcoal roof and white trimming on the windows and arches.

There was a small circular fountain a few feet in front of the main entrance and there was an outdoor hallway connected to smaller buildings along the right side of the house. She had no idea what they were, but she assumed Oliver would show her and Mia around once they unpacked.

She shook herself out of her thoughts as she walked towards the moving van where Oliver and Mia were currently grabbing boxes down from the back. She reached down and grabbed one Oliver had left on the ground. He winked at her and she smiled before following him towards the house.

Mia grunted as she followed Chloe and Oliver through the open front door of Queen Manor, box in hand. It was bright, sunny and she was wasting a perfectly good Saturday morning unloading boxes from a large moving van.

Chloe was in front of her and had just moved to the side placing the box she was carrying down as her eyes widened. “Wow…this is…big.” Mia groaned from behind her box, “You know…why didn’t you just spring for the men who come with the moving van to bring the boxes in and set stuff up…so we don’t have to. Box carrying is not fun.”

She dropped hers next to Chloe as she looked around startled. “Holy crap…I don’t think I’ve ever seen a house this big before…this might be a good thing…we can designate certain areas you can’t taint with your sexcapids…that way I’m not scarred for life…”

"Because we have certain league-related items," Oliver chuckled, turning to grin at Mia, "Plus, you know how picky I am with my alter ego's supplies." He set down his box before glancing around the open hallway, his eyes softening.

"I haven't been here in years..." His eyes found Chloe's and he smiled, "Don't worry about anything that's here or how it's decorated."

Oliver walked over and took Chloe's hands in his, "I can put anything we decide not to use in storage, or we can auction it off. But I want to paint and decorate this place together." His thumb brushed over her knuckles softly, "This was my parent’s home, but I want to make it all ours."

She smiled up at him kissing his cheek softly, “That sounds like an amazing plan…but you realize you’re going to have to show us around first…and is there like a map ‘cause I feel like I’m going to get lost.” She chuckled and glanced behind them to ask Mia a question when she frowned at the empty foyer.

“Well apparently we’ve already misplaced Mia…I’m surprised they were able to get things ready so soon…it’s really gorgeous Ollie…”

She took a step forward turning to her left when Mia’s voice echoed through the house, “There’s a huge ass pool! Can we go swimming?”

Chloe winced and then turned towards Oliver, smirking. She motioned to the high ceilings and open space. “Oh god…she’s even louder here.”

Oliver shook his head in amusement callign out to Mia, "How about after we finish bringing in all the boxes? It'll be a nice way to cool off when we're done."

He turned to Chloe, holding her hand as they headed back out to the truck, "I can't thank you enough for wanting to live here with me." He smiled at her, the bright happiness glowing from his eyes, "I think it will be perfect for us. There’s a pool house and carriage house that the team can stay in when visiting."

His lip twitched, "Not that there aren't enough rooms inside the house or anything." He lifted a shoulder, letting go of her hand and climbing into the back of the moving van, "I just figured the guys might like their own personal space when they visit or stay."

She shook her head as she watched him wade through boxes her heart warming at his words. “Ollie, you don’t need to thank me…this is where I want to be. And I think the guys will love that…it’s sweet that you thought of them. I think it’ll mean a lot.”

He seemed so happy she just hoped she didn’t disappoint him. There was still so much she was unsure of. She took the boxes he handed her and placed them on the ground before reaching for another.

The size of the house was slightly overwhelming, but that was just because she wasn’t used to it yet. She was sure as soon as they unpacked and she got to know the place she’d feel better. Chloe had never had her own space to decorate aside from the Talon and there wasn’t really much you could do with that.

So painting and all the stuff that comes along with having your own house was never really important to her, but Oliver seemed excited and as she followed him back into the house, more boxes in their hands it was the first time she allowed herself to be excited too.

______

It had taken four and a half hours to get all the boxes into the house and half of them were currently littering the foyer floor. Mia was on the ground a pout on her lips as she glanced up at Oliver. “Is it break time yet?” She glanced between them, her eyes hopeful.

“Maybe now that everything’s out of the van we can call Bart for help! He can speed everything in its place…what? Don’t give me that look. I’m a teenager it’s my job to always take the easy way out.”

Chloe bit her cheek to keep from laughing. “I am kinda hungry…is there any food here? Or are we shopping? Oh my god I just realized I don’t even know where we are…I don’t know where anything is.”

A look of horror crossed her face as she turned in Oliver’s direction, “Oh my god Oliver where’s the nearest coffee shop?”

Oliver laughed and shook his head at Mia again, "Why don't you just find your swimsuit in whichever box of yours it's in, and go for a swim, Chloe and I will figure out dinner and what to do with the boxes that aren't going in your room."

He walked over to Chloe and placed his hands on her shoulders, massaging them gently, "And relax, alright?" He kissed her cheek. "I planned on having a coffee bar installed for you."

His lips dropped to her neck, "Complete with cappuccino, expresso, and a variety of flavors." Oliver pulled back to look at her, "But we're still in Star City, and your favorite coffee shop here is fifteen minutes away."

His fingers draped into her hair and brushed a few strands behind her ear, "As for dinner, we could order in. This way we can take inventory of the house and see what stays and what goes... If we need to go furniture shopping." His lips inclined to her ear as he whispered huskily, "Maybe christen a few rooms while Mia's busy..."

Chloe let out a heavy breath and chuckled lightly, "Mm this plan of yours is sounding promising." She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his jaw.

Mia scrunched her nose, but there was humor in her eyes as she stood. "And that's my exit cue..." She gave them a small smile before bounding up the unfamiliar staircase to the room she'd chosen a couple of hours ago, which was strategically as far away from the master bedroom as she could get.

Chloe watched her go before glancing back at Oliver. She bit her bottom lip her eyes meeting his. "You know you don't have to go through all that trouble. I'm okay with my coffee maker. I don't want you to have to add anything extra."

She glanced around them before turning back in his direction. "I mean I can't imagine this place not having everything we need...hell I'm sure it has more than what we need."

Her hand slid away from his neck and to his arms rubbing them gently. "So...maybe tomorrow we can take a ride around the area and you can show me where stuff is? I mean I know I've been here before, but that was mostly for events and stuff..."

She let out a small sigh as she realized how true her next words were. "I don't think I've ever really seen Star City. And I know you're gonna have to go back to work Monday and I just want to make sure I'm not bugging you every five minutes to ask where stuff is."

Suddenly Chloe was feeling incredibly bad about never making an effort to be more a part of his life out here. He knew Metropolis inside and out and she barely knew how to find her favorite coffee shop out here.

She swallowed the lump in her throat. Now more than ever she was happy with her decision to move to Star City this would be good for them.

"I already ordered the cappuccino and expresso machines," his arms tightened around her, "It’s my way of keeping you home while I'm here..." He pecked his lips to hers softly, "And I will happily show you around tomorrow."

Amusement filled her face as she tilted her head to the side, "You're trying to bribe me to stay home with coffee? You're a little cute Mr. Queen."

She moved out of his arms and turned towards the boxes, bending down and reading the labels on them. "Well come on then let's get this stuff put away so you can show me around the house...I have yet to see our bedroom...that should be our first stop"

She smirked at him over her shoulder before glancing back at the boxes around them. Oliver grinned as he bent down and reached for a box labeled 'bedroom', "I like the way you think Mrs. Queen."

She chuckled, lifting a box and turning in his direction, "Is it strange that it's still weird hearing you call me that?" She shrugged, "I know we're married, but still..." She nodded her head forward, "lead the way Romeo."

He gave her a smile with a slight shrug, "I'm confident you'll get used to it."

"Mm..." She followed him up the stairs and down the hallway. She stopped every so often to take in the pictures mounted along the walls before catching up with him.

At the end of the hall there was a set of double doors, he pushed them open and she trailed in after him dropping the box lightly to the floor. The room was big and the light from the outdoor patio bathed it in a warm glow.

She glanced around in awe as she took it all in. There was a long dresser with a mirror above it that spanned the length of the dresser, but divided in the middle so there were two sides.

On the left of the room there were two plush chairs, a small table, and an amour near the bed. Her eyes caught sight of a large bathroom and another door near it. She paused for a minute and glanced towards Oliver.

"Is that...is that a walk in closet?" She didn't wait for his answer as she moved past him her body brushing lightly against his. She stepped into the doorway, her hand groping for a light switch. When she found it her fingers flicked it on and her mouth dropped open.

Chloe had never been impressed by material things. It wasn't the type of person she was but after years of sharing closet space with Lois and then attempting to fit her stuff in Oliver's already full closet looking at the room in front of her almost had her making one of those very unattractive squealing sounds.

She felt him come up behind her but she couldn’t take her eyes off the space in front of her. It could quite literally be its own bedroom it was that big.

And there was some kind of piece of furniture in the middle of the room with thin draws and a mirror. It looked sort of like a vanity. It was one of those his and her closets. Both sides identical save for a few small details. "Wow...I think I just found my favorite room..."

His arms circled her waist, and he dropped a kiss to her shoulder and then moved them on a path up her neck, "I won't have to worry about stepping on your shoes anymore..."

Chloe spun around in his arms, her lips capturing his in a hard kiss that left her heart racing when she pulled away, "Have I mentioned lately that I love you?" She slipped from his arms and took a few backward steps into the room.

There was a gleam of mischief in her eyes as her voice fell from her lips, "Personally I think it's time for a break...and this is the first room I think we should christen..."

Her hand fell to the strap of her black sundress as she raised an eyebrow and crooked a finger in his direction motioning him over with it.

"Oh do tell," he held her gaze as he slowly closed the distance between them. "How do you think we should do that, Mrs. Queen?"

Her hands pulled him closer before sliding up and under his shirt. "Hmm well for starters you can lose this," she tugged at his shirt lightly before leaning in and placing a sucking kiss at his neck.

She gripped one of his arms and lifted herself on her toes, warm breath hitting his ear, "Then maybe you can lose the pants...’cause I'm thinking we should definitely have sex in every room..."

Her lips nibbled at his ear before she kissed him right beneath it, her voice breathy as she pressed her body against his. "How long do you think it would take us? Maybe we can make it our first project in our new home..."

His eyes locked on hers in a heated gaze, "I don't think I tell you enough, how much I love you..." He stepped back and pulled his t-shirt over his head, tossing it to the floor before his hands found her hips again and pulled her against him, the evidence of his erection pressing into her flat stomach.

"It could take us a few days..." He nudged her lips with his before trailing them along her jaw and down her neck, "I wouldn't mind taking a week off work..."

She moaned, her hand caressing his naked back as she rubbed her body against his, "Good to know...’cause you're kinda stuck with me."

Her hand slid to his stomach before moving to the waistband of his pants. "I can definitely be persuaded to spend a week cooped up here with you..."

She took a step back bringing him with her when her back hit the vanity. She glanced behind her eyebrow raised. "How steady do you think that is?"

"Depends," his fingers pressed into her hips. "Do you want me gentle," he kissed under her jaw before dragging his teeth down her neck. "Or do you want me hard and rough?"

She licked her lips as a wave of moisture pooled between her thighs at his words. She shifted trying to quench the ache between her legs as she placed a kiss on his shoulder; her warm breath caressing his skin as she spoke in a sultry voice.

"I'm all yours Romeo...limited time offer we can do whatever you want..."

Her hand slipped inside his pants cupping him threw his boxers as she met his eyes, "I like you every way...gentle...hard...rough...in costume," she waggled her eyebrows. "As long as you're inside me soon I don't care what you do."

She moved in placing another kiss against his jaw as her hand continued to move against him. His eyes fluttered closed, a tingle running down his spine as she cupped her palm against him. "Admittedly, I'm torn," he managed to get out.

"Part of me wants to make love to my wife in our new home slowly," he opened his eyes and glanced down at her, his brown orbs glazed over in lust. "And the other part wants to fuck you so hard."

She nodded and gave him a look of mock concentration, "Hmm tough choice though you can always save the love making for the bed..."

Chloe moved her hand inside his boxes curling her small palm around him in a tight grip and pumping him slowly. She pressed her body against his again, trapping her hand between them, the feel of her hardened nipples against the cotton of her dress brushing his chest.

"I think....the closet wants you to give it to me nice, quick, and hard...there is still a lot of unpacking to do...and we've got all night for you to take your time with me..."

She gave him a one shouldered shrug as she started moving her hand faster, voice light. "Just saying..."

He bit his lip as his eyes descended at half-mass, his hips starting to thrust forward, "Keep that up and I'm not going to be able to do either..."

Her hand froze and she pressed her lips against his lightly, catching his bottom lip between her teeth briefly before letting it go and pulling her hand away from him, "Hm, well we can't have that..." She placed one of her hands over his and slid it from her hip slowly up her body until it was cupping her breast. "Touch me..."

He swiped his thumb over her nipple, his palm massaging her breast clockwise as his fingers flexed over the fabric of her sundress.

Chloe arched her body against his hand, moaning low in her throat as her head fell slightly to the side."Ollie..." She tugged him forward until he was pressing her against the vanity in the middle of the room. Her heart beat picked up speed, arousal curling low in abdomen as her hand brushed against his hardened shaft again.
He released her breast, running his hands up her arms, his fingers snaring the thin straps of her dress, dragging them down her arms.

The top of her dress falling and exposing her breasts as he spun her around to face the mirror of the vanity, his hands fisting the skirt of her dress, shoving it up and over her hips.

With a strong hold on her hip under his left hand, he dropped his right hand between her thighs, his fingers pushing her panties to the side as he glided his digits over her slit.

Her hands gripped the edge of the wood, knuckles white as she let out a soft whimper and pushed her hips back to bring his fingers closer to her heated flesh. She’d been with Oliver for over two years now and she still couldn’t believe the way her body responded to him.

He was barely touching her and she was embarrassingly wet already. She caught sight of him through the mirror catching his eye as her tongue darted out moistening her lips, her voice coming out in one breath. “Ollie don’t tease…I’ve wanted you so bad since this morning…You were loading the truck and you were all sweaty and I just wanted to push you against the back of it and fuck you right there…”

"But you know I like it when you beg," he groaned, bending her more over the vanity as he practically shoved her underwear to the side and inserted two of his fingers into her in haste. Leaning over he placed a kiss below her shoulder blade, "I love hearing how much you need me."
Chloe’s eyes slid shut as his fingers slipped in and out of her body. Her skin felt like it was on fire, his grip tight as she pushed her hips back fucking herself on his fingers as a strangled moan left her throat. “Oh god I do…harder...I need…”

Her voice trailed off into another moan as he brushed a finger against her clit, her head dropping forward as she sucked in a deep breath.

His lips traveled over her back as his fingers departed from her, causing her to moan at the loss of friction. "Think about how loud you can be in a house this big," Oliver whispered as he grabbed his rigid cock and guided it to her entrance, filling her with his entire length in one stroke.

Chloe cried out at his sharp entrance as he filled her and set a quick pace. She moaned loud pushing her hips back to meet his, hands still clutching the furniture in front of her for purchase. She could see him moving through the mirror as her body jerked forward, breasts bouncing with each thrust and the moisture between her thighs increased at the erotic picture they made.

“Oh god…Oliver…”

She could feel her body tensing as her inner walls fluttered lightly, she was so close, but she bit her bottom lip hard and held back not wanting the feel of him inside her to end. His fingernail's dug into her hips, and he lifted his gaze to watch her in the mirror, completely floored by her mouth hanging open in a silent cry as pleasure ripped through her, his hips jutting forward rampantly at the kinky sight of her.

"God, Chloe..." He grit his teeth, trying to concentrate on holding onto his control as her passage squeezed him, pulling him deeper inside of her. She tried to catch her breath, but every time he plunged back inside of her, he knocked it from her lungs.

She couldn’t hold on much longer. The edge of the vanity was now pushing into her stomach hard as her nails clamped on the back edge of the wood. She could hear his grunts as all kinds of incoherent sounds fell from her lips as the need for release built up inside of her to the point of being painful.

She cried out his name loud, inner walls clamping down around his shaft, muscles squeezing hard, pulsating around him as she came apart beneath him. Her eyes were closed as she rode out her orgasm her voice finally lowering to soft whimpers as he continued to move inside of her.

He felt her channel clench around him, her orgasm flowing from her as she shook in rapture. His eyes remained on the image of her reflection in the mirror, the way her body tensed, breasts falling up and down as she rode out her passion, and he felt himself succumb to his own climax with one last thrust inside of her.

Oliver panted as he tried to remain standing to keep himself from collapsing on top of her, and when he finally managed to get his breathing under control, he pulled out of her slowly, turning her around as he slid his hands into her hair and kissed her until the air left him again.

"You are so amazing," he lifted a hand to brush her sweaty bangs from her face. "You make me feel like the luckiest guy in the world for getting to come home to such an incredible wife."

Her face softened as she brushed a hand against his cheek, kissing his jaw lightly. “You Oliver Queen are such a big ol’ softy…but I promise not to tell…it might ruin your image…” She paused, swallowing hard as one hand lowered to his arm, the other to his waist.

Chloe tilted her head to the side, meeting his eyes voice soft. “I love you…so much…you know that right?”

"Yes," Oliver smiled, cupping her cheek with the palm of his hand and placing a soft kiss to her lips before resting his forehead against her. "And hopefully you know how much I love you." He pushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear, "You're it for me, Chloe."

She grinned and captured his lips in a soft kiss. “See? Like I said…big ‘ol softy…like a cuddly teddy bear. If only the criminals of Star City could see you now…”

She shook her head pulling the straps of her dress up and brushing her hand over her hem of it. “Okay Romeo, playtime’s over. Here’s the plan you’re going to go grab some more boxes while I use the bathroom and fix myself…”

She placed a kiss on his cheek before moving around him. “I’ll meet you downstairs in a minute so I can help then we can order dinner? I’m thinking….Thai food…Mia likes Thai too is that okay?”

He nodded with a wide grin as he bent down and kissed her before trying to find his clothes, "Just remember your husband is allergic to peanuts," he winked at her, "so no peanuts for me or you because I have big plans for us and a few of the other rooms tonight."

Chloe smirked, “No worries…I plan on keeping you around for a while so we’ll forgo the peanuts for the foreseeable future. Now come on…put those manly muscles to good use…” she winked as she made her way out of the closet and into the bathroom as Oliver tossed his shirt over his head.

There was a slight bang, a low ‘ouch’, and then a loud shout, “Oh my god Ollie! We’re having sex in this tub tonight! I think I just found my second favorite room…you know if there was a fridge, phone, and desk I’d never have to leave the bedroom…I could just live in here.” Her chuckle floated through the room.

Oliver shook his head in amusement as he followed her into their bathroom, "Well, I will need a bath after I get all sweaty from moving the boxes with my 'manly muscles'." He winked at her with a grin on his lips before turning and heading back into their room to finish getting dressed.

Chloe glanced over her shoulder and watched him go with a grin on her face. Moving to Star City might be slightly intimidating, but it was good to know her dynamic with Oliver was still the same. She had been worried that things between them would be awkward while they transitioned between dating to married without the actual planning in between.

But so far aside from a few hiccups things were going well and she wasn't feeling nearly as terrified as she had in the beginning, which meant things were definitely looking up.

______

Chloe sat at the marble island in the middle of the kitchen as she glanced down at the piece of paper in front of her while bringing her mug to her lips and talking a sip of coffee. They had just gotten back from their tour of the town a little while ago and she and Oliver were currently looking over the notes they’d made about what they wanted to keep and what was going.

She didn’t want to change too much because this was his family’s home and she knew how important that was to him, but she also knew they needed to make it their own. The sliding door to the backyard was open letting in a light breeze and Chloe’s ear picked up a loud splash coming from the pool.

She grinned and shook her head. The first thing Mia had done when they got back was hop into the pool. Chloe still hadn’t even really looked at the backyard yet. She’d been too busy unpacking and possibly having all kinds of sex with her husband in the oddest of places.

Oliver had found some of the places that turned her on to be highly amusing last night. She pursed her lips together slightly not glancing away from the paper as she addressed him.

“Maybe we can replace the couch in the study…and maybe the one in the entertainment room too…you know the one with the poker table? We can update that room a little in case you and the boys want to use it….although first I think we should have sex on the poker table…just an idea.”

She said it completely casually like she was discussing the latest mission or buying milk. “Oh we can check out that furniture store we saw earlier, the one that was down the block from the grocery store. That place looked nice.”

Oliver nodded, "I think I want to replace the one in the living room too." He picked up a few papers, glimpsing over the layout of the house on the blueprint, "How did you sleep on our bed last night?"

She shrugged, “Like a rock…though that can be chalked up to the fact that I was so exhausted I probably could have passed out on the floor.” She laughed lightly glancing over at him. “How about you? You sleep okay?”

His head lolled from side to side as he dragged out his decision, "I think so... And I'm sure the guest room mattresses don't need to be replaced since this place hasn't been used in years..." He set down the papers and glanced up at her, "What about the kitchen?"

He turned and glanced around it before returning to look at her, "Did you want to remodel it into a different style? Maybe get a bigger dining room table just in case...?"

The table was about ten feet long, and would easily sit them and the team should they ever visit or come over for the holidays, and Oliver knew Chloe had been reluctant, nearly running at any mention of the words kids, children, or babies.

But he did recall how she had referenced his hope to raise a family in his parent’s home when they had gone house shopping. “If you’re not happy with the bed Ollie we can always get a different one.” Her brows furrowed slightly as she glanced at the table, “And just in case? The table is huge I’m pretty sure it would fit…”

She glanced back at him and paused noting the look on his face. She closed her mouth and swallowed hard. “Oh…you mean…right.” Chloe glanced back at the papers briefly before taking a deep breath and looking at him, her voice hesitant.

“This is one of those things we should talk about…isn’t it?”

Oliver pursed his lips, sitting up straighter in his chair, "Well... We don't have to..." He cleared his throat, "I mean, we just got married, and it's better to take things slow... But I mean, sometimes things don't go as planned."

He coughed, "As proof of our abrupt Vegas wedding..."

He shook his head, "What I'm trying to say is, maybe we don't have to discuss it, or worry about it, and instead just be prepared in case it does happen without us planning it out." Oliver lifted a shoulder, "Worst case scenario, we have a bigger table and can invite Big Bird and his posse over for the holidays."

She bit her lip as she studied him. She could see the tension in his body and she knew his words were said to make her feel better. And she wasn’t thinking about rushing anything, but she needed to know where he was on the subject and if it was going to be an issue for them down the road.

They didn’t have to talk about it…but they probably should. She placed a hand over his. “I don’t care about the table…we can get a bigger one it’s not a huge deal…but Oliver…I need you to be honest with me. Do you want kids? I mean is that important to you?”

He held her gaze, knowing he had to be honest with her if their marriage was going to work, "I never used to..." He swallowed, hoping this conversation wasn't going to crush him, "Not until you, Chloe."

The honesty in his words combined with the look in his eyes broke something inside of her. Her face softened as she swallowed heavily trying to moisten her throat.

It wasn't that she never wanted kids, it was just after everything she had seen and everything they had all been through...the thought of throwing a baby into the mix scared her.

Sometimes they barely managed to keep themselves and the rest of the world alive...what's to keep someone from using their child against them? They didn't exactly have the safest lifestyle.

She chose her words carefully. "What I said in the limo...about not wanting kids...it wasn't about you because you're the only person I could ever see myself having a baby with...it was the not knowing if I wanted to bring a child into this life"

She took a deep breath, "Our lives are so uncertain and you know what it's like to grow up without parents. I never want to put our child through that."

She shrugged, "I wouldn't be unhappy if it happened I mean...it's us…I just...I'm not looking to have one now. Maybe once we've gotten the whole marriage thing down and settled in...Maybe I'll feel differently."

She squeezed his hand lightly, "But Ollie...it's never off the table completely..."

Oliver smiled at her genuinely, squeezing her hand in return, "Thank you." He leaned forward, pressing his forehead to hers as he closed his eyes, "That means so much, and for the record..."

He drew back a few inches, his hand sliding into her hair, "I think we'd make beautiful children together..." He gave her a reassuring smile, "When the times right."

Chloe chuckled softly, "Mm I have no doubt...you're just the type of guy that all those crazy baby fever women are looking for...you’re so...pretty."

She leaned in pressing a light kiss against his lips. She opened her mouth and before she had a chance to say anything the doorbell chimed through the house. She arched an eyebrow at him. "You expecting someone?"

Oliver shook his head, "And have them interrupt quality time with my wife?" He gave her a skeptical look, "Definitely not." He stood up from the table when she did, following her to the front door curiously.

Chloe grinned at Oliver amusement on her face as she pulled the door open. There was a woman, dark hair, slim who was most likely in her late forties or early fifties standing there with a smile on her face. She was wearing sunglasses, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

She pushed the sunglasses to the top of her head as she gazed at Chloe. She returned the woman's smile but confusion was etched into her features.

"Hello dear, you must be Chloe."

Chloe nodded and glanced over at Oliver eyebrow arched in question to see if he knew the woman at the door.

"Chloe, this is my former nanny Maggie," his face brightened as he smiled between the two women. "Maggie, my wife Chloe." He slid his arm over Chloe's shoulders, "Maggie practically raised me after my parents died. She works for Queen Industries now and runs our Falling Star foundation for Orphans in Star City."

Recognition crossed Chloe’s face as she nudged Oliver over before giving Maggie a sheepish smile and opening the door wider “Sorry about that, come in. It’s nice to meet you Maggie.”

The older woman chuckled lightly as she made her way inside and waved off Chloe’s apology. “It’s completely fine. So let me get a good look at you…Oliver’s told me so much about you.”

Chloe blushed lightly at the attention as she eyed Oliver before looking back at the brunette in front of her. “Hopefully only the good things…would you like a drink?”

“That would be lovely.” They made their way into the kitchen and Chloe grabbed two cups as Oliver and Maggie sat at the island. “We’ve got water, soda, juice…”

“Water’s fine dear.”

Chloe filled two glasses with ice water before moving back to the table, handing Maggie her drink and standing by Oliver. The older woman smiled her thanks as Chloe took a sip of her water and handed it to Oliver offering him some.

“So how are things with the house? Was everything cleared up by the time you guys got here?”

Oliver leaned in closer to Chloe, laying his hand at the small of her back as he nodded, "Yeah, actually we're just going over the inventory now and deciding what to keep."

He took another sip of water from Chloe’s glass, "Maybe whatever we don't decide to keep we could auction off and donate the money to Falling Stars." He chuckled, "Or just donate the items, though I'm not sure they'd appreciate my mom's taste in antique furniture, they'd probably prefer the comfy and modern furniture already supplied."

Maggie laughed and shook her head at Oliver. “Auctions are always doable. Have you guys had a chance to go through the whole house already?”

She glanced at Chloe who shook her head. “I’ve seen most of this floor and upstairs. I haven’t gotten a chance to really see the backyard yet or those little building things on the side of the house…” She could feel Oliver’s body shake with inaudible laughter at her description of the guest and pool houses.

She tilted her head back and pouted slightly, “Don’t laugh at me…they are small buildings okay…” She looked back at Maggie. “But it’s all really beautiful. I’m sure we’ll get through everything eventually.”

She nodded, “That’s good, well I’m sure you’ll love it out here. There’s a lot do to and if you need any help getting things together for the house please feel free to call me.”

Chloe gave the woman in front of her a warm smile. She could see why Oliver adored her so much. “Thank you…I might just take you up on that eventually...”

There was a noise by the kitchen door as Mia made her way into the kitchen a towel wrapped around her. She paused when she caught sight of Maggie and grinned. “Maggie! Hey, what are you doing here?”

She glanced at the teenager and shook her head. “It figures you’d head straight to the pool missy. I hope you’re doing something productive on your vacation…”

Mia gave her serious look and nodded as she headed towards the fridge grabbing a can of soda and turning back towards the three adults in front of her. “I absolutely am…I’m productively watching a group of guys play football outside on the property next door…we have sexy neighbors…”

Chloe chuckled, “How can you see them? The closest neighbor is kinda far.”

Mia nodded, “True, but they are playing in their backyard very close to our pool…I’m thinking moving here…great idea…well I’m gonna go back out there and…swim. You staying for dinner Maggie?”

She shook her head, “I’ve got a ton of things to do sweetheart, but I’ll probably stop by soon.” Mia nodded and waved with a smile before heading back outside. Chloe glanced at Oliver, amusement in her eyes. “Hmm maybe I should see what Mia loves so much about this pool…”

Oliver's jaw tensed, "Just remember you're a married woman, Mrs. Queen." Chloe rolled her eyes playfully before glancing at him as Maggie smiled and watched them interact. She could see why Oliver loved Chloe…she seemed sweet, down to earth, and entirely willing to put him in his place which was exactly what he needed.

“Please have you seen my husband? He’s sorta hot…maybe he should go outside and play football…or any other sport that requires partial nudity would be accepted.”

Oliver grinned and snaked his arms around her hips, "Hmm, I did play soccer when I attended Excelsior..." He lifted a shoulder, "We didn't have football, but it was just as popular."

Chloe shifted and moved to sit on his lap as she sighed, “Soccer…bad mitten…football…ping pong…whatever works I’m just looking for an excuse for you to take off your shirt so I can ogle.”

Maggie laughed out loud and Chloe turned head toward the woman in front of her. A tinge of red filled her face as she bit the inside of her cheek. “I’m not making a very good first impression am I? I swear I didn’t just marry him because he’s got a nice body…”

Maggie smirked, “Well even if you did it would be a step up from why everyone else wants to marry him…and please I think you two make a wonderful couple…I can see now why Oliver is so taken with you.” She leaned forward slightly, humor dancing on her face as she spoke.
“To be honest I thought you were a figment of his imagination…he kept telling me about this wonderful woman he was in love with and never managed to actually introduce us, but it’s better late than never.” She gave Oliver a reprimanding look.

Chloe gave her a tight smile, “Yeah sorry about that, that’s probably more, my fault than Ollie’s…but we’re here now and Star City seems nice so far.”

She nodded before glancing down at her watch, “Oh it’s getting late and I have a few things to do before heading home. Oliver sweetheart you’ll give Chloe my number in case she needs anything?”

Oliver nodded, "Thanks Maggie, and you should find sometime in your busy schedule to come over for dinner sometime."

She stood and chuckled. “For you? I’ll make sure I do.” Chloe stood as Maggie moved towards Oliver and pulled him into a hug before placing a kiss on his cheek. “You take care good care of this young lade here…and if he gives you any trouble you let me know.”

Chloe grinned. “Yes ma’am.”

Maggie nodded as they walked her towards the door. “I’m sure I’ll be seeing you two soon.”

Chloe waved as the older woman made her way out the door, “It was nice meeting you.”

“You too sweetheart.”

They watched as she made her way to her car and waved before pulling out of the driveway. Oliver closed the door and Chloe tilted her head to the side as she reached out and gripped his side. “She seems very sweet…I’m sorry I haven’t met her before today.”

Oliver turned and studied her carefully with a small smile. "Well, in your defense, you were saving the world." She shrugged her voice quite. “Yeah well, so were you, but that didn’t really seem to stop you from trotting back and forth from Star City to Metropolis.”

Chloe let out a short breath angry with herself for never thinking that it might have been a good idea to make that kind of an effort. God she had been a horrible girlfriend…and here she was attempting to be a wife, which she’d probably be horrible at too.

Oliver wound his arms around her hips, bending down and brushing his lips over her neck, "You never had a reason to come here, I was only going on quick business trips, and your work and your family were in Metropolis."

His fingers spread, his palms flattening over her stomach, "And I feel slightly selfish that you had to move out here away from all that, but I can't tell you how happy it's made me."

She raised an eyebrow at him. “You’re not selfish…and it makes me happy too…I’m thinking I might try cooking something tonight...we went food shopping so we might as well actually eat food from the house. How to you feel about baked ziti?”

His stomach rumbled then and he chuckled, "Food sounds good, do you want any help?" She gave him a small smile still not feeling fully placated, but understanding the message he was sending her. She placed a light kiss on his lips before heading towards the kitchen Oliver trailing behind her.

She glanced out the window and smirked. "And no I've got dinner." She nodded her head towards the backyard. "But you might want to wrangle Mia in and make sure she doesn't run away with the neighbor boy. He looks a little old for her."

Oliver walked over to the window and glanced out at Mia, a frown fracturing his smile, "Uh huh..." He turned back to Chloe after watching Mia for a few moments longer. "I hope you know if we ever have a daughter in the future...She's never leaving the house."

A small laugh bubbled in her throat at his words as her eyes glanced back out at Mia, watching as the teenagers hand reached out brushing the stomach of the guy standing in front of her. "Our poor unborn child...you know the General tried to lock Lois up and never let her out...look how well that turned out."

Oliver rolled his eyes, "Oh please... Lois broke out, snuck out, and took a tank to prom, remember?"

Chloe glanced at Oliver eyebrow raised, amusement on her face."Yes Oliver...that's why you don't lock your children in the house." She laughed and shook her head. "Because then they sneak out and get in trouble."

She nudged him before moving to the cabinet and pulling out a box of pasta. "Now seriously, go get Mia to come inside. That guy’s gotta be my age. He's too old for her and he's leering. You're her guardian...you're not supposed to let men ogle her...even if she likes it."

"Is it time to send her back to school yet?" He grumbled before making his way out onto the patio, arms crossed as he sized up the man across his yard and called for Mia to come in.

Chloe watched him on the porch and shook her head. She knew even though he complained sometimes about Mia putting a damper on their fun, he enjoyed having her home.

She got out a pot to cook the pasta in and started milling about the kitchen getting everything ready to start dinner. She might not be the perfect wife, but at least dinner was something she couldn't mess up. Everything else...well she supposed that would come with time and until then she'd just keep doing what she was doing.

  5. Really glad they discussed the children thing rather than leaving it. I love their relationship. Looks like they are standing up for their marriage no matter how hard things get thrown their way. Little reluctance from Chloe this chapter, but her honesty made up for it. So I'm back to loving them both. And Mia I just love her!

This chapter was smokin hot too! Take that evil no good scheming troublemaker father daughter duo...okay I had something nastier to say...but keeping it PG lol
