Chloe shifted on the couch eyeing the magazine in front of her. Lois had dropped it off earlier that morning and she hadn’t had a chance to look at it just yet. The problem was it was all the way on the other end of the glass coffee table in front of her. She pursed her lips; Chloe was nothing if not determined. She tried to lean forward and winced so she relaxed her back against the soft pillow of the couch. Her brows furrow as she glanced down at herself with a frown.

She was four days past her due date and she was huge. Her legs were resting on two pillows that were placed on top of the coffee table and if they weren’t elevated she was pretty sure she wouldn’t even be able to see them over the size of her stomach. Nathan and Mia were at school and Oliver was working. She was uncomfortable, hot, tired and all she wanted to do was read the damn article that had been printed about her in the FitPregnancy magazine.

Chloe knew all she had to do was yell for Clark and he’d be there in seconds, but she didn’t want him zipping into her and Oliver’s apartment just so she could read a magazine, it was ridiculous. She should be able to get it herself. She shifted yet again struggling to maneuver her body enough so she could reach for the magazine, but nothing worked.

She let out a frustrated grunt before tears pooled in her eyes, hands going to her face as she let out a loud sob, tears streaming down her face. She was so busy crying that she didn’t hear the sound of the elevator chime.

The doors slid open and Oliver made his way into the apartment, grin on his face as he loosened his tie, plastic bag in hand. He had gone into the office extra early that morning so he could get most of his meetings done by lunch time and come home to Chloe. He picked up her favorite meal from the Thai place around the corner and was just about to move to the kitchen to and grab plates when he heard the sound of crying.

Fear gripped him as his hand tightened on the bag and he ran towards the living room. The sight that greeted him broke his heart. His wife was sitting on the couch legs propped up on the coffee table, shoulders heaving as she cried hysterically. Oliver’s chest tightened and he dropped the food on the table as he walked over and sat down next to her. He reached out hesitantly and rubbed her arm gently trying not to startle her. “Hey…Sidekick what’s wrong? Are you okay? Is it the baby?” He asked quietly.

Chloe glanced up at the sound of his voice, face red and slightly blocky, confusion in her expression as she spoke through her tears. “Ollie?” She asked uncertainty in her voice, confused as to why he was home in the middle of the day. He nodded cupping her cheek and brushing his thumb against the skin there.

“It’s me,” he confirmed, “What’s wrong?” He asked her softly his heart clenching at the tears streaming down her cheeks. He reached up wiping them as she started to calm down while he waited for an answer.

She sniffled slightly before shaking her head. “I’m fine…it’s stupid. What are you do home?” She asked while wiping her other eye.

Oliver arched an eyebrow his brows drawing together. “I came home to bring you lunch, and Chloe anything that is making my wife sit here and cry is a very big deal…Talk to me Sidekick.” He said softly and she made a noise low in her throat before biting her lower lip and glancing at him.

She let out a shaky breath and motioned to the magazine on the table. “Lois dropped off the magazine; you know the one that interviewed me? She stopped by this morning to check on me after Mia and Nathan left for school and I want to read it, but…I can’t reach it,” She said before breaking down in tears again.

Oliver opened and closed him mouth as he glanced between his wife and the magazine on the table. He knew Chloe had been emotional lately, but he hadn’t realized she was this emotional. He was pretty sure if she didn’t have this baby soon her mood swings were going to send him to an early grave.

He shook himself out of his thoughts and his face softened as he shifted reaching forward and lifting the magazine from the table. He turned back towards his wife with a small smile on his face as he dropped a hand behind her and rubbed her back soothingly while holding it out to her. “Better?” He asked her softly.

Chloe wiped her eyes and took a few deep breaths as she tilted her head and gave him a tired smile. “I’m sorry…I just hate not being able to do things myself. I’m disgusting and this damn kid should have come out days ago,” She said while glaring down at her stomach and rubbing a hand over it lightly.

Oliver bit his cheek to keep from laughing. Now was definitely not the best time to do that, at least not if he valued his life. He tilted his head and placed a kiss against the side of her head. “Sidekick, you’re far from disgusting, I think you’re gorgeous and it’s okay if for once you can’t do everything on your own. I don’t mind helping and soon you’ll have the baby and then you’ll go back to barely needing me.” He joked as he pulled her against his body.

Chloe pouted, but rested her head against his shoulder and sighed. “That’s not the point,” She ‘hmphed’ and Oliver sighed as he waved the magazine slightly. “Still want to read it? Hmm or maybe I can read it to you?” he asked and she tilted her head up and gave him a small grin. Oliver chuckled. “Reading it to you it is…Let’s see.” He let his voice trail off as he opened the magazine to the three page, front and back, spread they’d given to his wife.

This soon to be Mom’s life is everything she ever wanted, and it still amazes her.

We caught up with Chloe Queen not long ago and the soon to be Mother of the first of what we’re sure are going to be a large brood of Queen progeny’s, hand a ton of gossip to tell us about her pregnancy, husband, and what she most looking forward to as a new Mom. Check out our photo spread and read the article to hear in her own words how she’s feeling as she nears the finish line of her pregnancy.

Fit Pregnancy: So, how are you feeling?

Chloe Queen: You know, I’m actually feeling really great. I think I’m enjoying pregnancy a lot more than I expected to. I mean you hear all these horror stories from different woman about being sick all the time and feeling disconnected from friends and family and feeling unattractive, just so many different things you know? (laughs) So I guess I was expecting it to be a lot worse. The beginning of the pregnancy was a little rough on me, the morning sickness was definitely a killer, but it eased up in the second trimester, which was nice. These days I do find myself having to take naps every once in a while. It’s a weird concept for someone like me who’s always on the move; to be like Ollie…can we not go out to lunch I need a nap. I think the first time I said that, he was almost giddy. He’s so used to having to force me to take it easy and slow down that pregnancy has been a welcome help to him.

FP: Do you like being pregnant?

CQ: You know, that really depends on the day you ask me. (She chuckles lightly) Today? Yes I like being pregnant, but as with everything else pregnancy has its good days and its bad days. Some days there’s so many ache and pains you just sort of want it to be over with so you can get to the good part you know?

FP: What was it like when you first found out you were pregnant?

CQ: (She arches her eyebrow and smirks) That’s actually a funny story. I think the first fifteen minutes after I found out I was sort of in a state of shock before it finally sunk in and I was excited. Typically this is probably news you share with your significant other in person, but I was so excited that I couldn’t wait for Ollie to get home. So I called his office and apparently he had just been finishing up a meeting and answered the call on speaker, which in my defense he doesn’t usually do…and I might have announced my pregnancy to him and a room full of board members, it was not my brightest moment. (laughs) But they all found it quite amusing and they kept our secret until we were ready to go public with it, so that was nice of them.

FP: What has changed the most for you since you got pregnant?

CQ: Definitely the amount of time I spend working. I’ve always been very involved with my job and I still am but the hours I can work before I get tired or worn out are substantially less than they were before. My husband is thrilled. He says I work too hard, I tell him he’s biased…it’s a vicious circle. But that’s definitely his favorite part of the pregnancy the fact that he finally has an excuse to make me take it easy. Plus it’s given me more time to spend with Nathan and Mia, which is always nice, they’re excited about the baby.

FP: Have you had any cravings and what’s the hardest thing you’ve had to give up?

CQ: Oh my god Coffee! I miss the smell and taste of it so much. I still remember the first few weeks without it. I was a horrible person, poor Oliver. He really is the most amazing husband, I have no clue how he dealt with the mood swings. They’ve gotten better, but I can’t wait until after the baby is born and I can have my morning cup of coffee again. Most woman say they miss drinking, having some wine here and there. I’m not a very big drinker but coffee…god I’m impossible with it. So it’s been hard. As far as cravings go, I’ve had a bunch; mostly really strange ones involving exotic fruit and chocolate though I’ve been eating a lot of pickles too. I’m not sure what that’s all about. (She laughs.)

FP: Speaking of Oliver, how is your husband handling the pregnancy?

CQ: (Her face softens and she smiles.) He’s dealing with it remarkably well. I don’t think you’ll find a man more excited at the prospect of changing diapers than Oliver, it’s sort of strange in an absolutely adorable way. But he’s very take charge about being prepared and ready and he and Nathan have been working on the baby’s nursery while Mia and I have been picking out furniture and paints. Oliver’s been supportive from the beginning and is completely responsive to all my needs. (She pauses her eyes tearing up slightly) He’s really fantastic. I swear, he’d carry the baby himself if he could, he’s that excited.

Oliver paused in his reading and made a face as he turned to his wife. “You told them I’d carry the baby if I could?” He pouted and Chloe rolled her eyes while shrugging as she played with the hair at the back of his neck.

“Well that’s what you’re always telling me when I’m complaining and whining about how everything hurts.” She told him nonchalantly.

He pointed at the magazine. “Yeah, it’s what I say to you, my wife, in the privacy of our own home…I don’t want other people knowing I say that,” He scrunched his nose as an undignified noise left her throat and she pushed away from him.

“Oh I see how it is, so basically you just say those things to me to get me to shut up and you don’t want anyone else to know, got it. You can go away now.” She said while folding her arms over her chest.

He sighed and dropped his head. “Chloe,” He said his tone slightly exasperated. “That’s not what I said, please don’t put words into my mouth, you know how much I love you and how I’d do anything to make you more comfortable if I could.” He told her softly. Her hormones were getting worse with each day that went by and she was incredibly temperamental. It was getting to the point where he had to watch what he said very closely or he’d either make her cry or get angry, both of which he didn’t like directed at him.

Chloe snorted and waved him off. “Again you’re just saying that because you have to. Because I’m your wife and you want me to shut up and stop being so--” Her voice abruptly cut off and Oliver arched an eyebrow at her when he saw shock cross her face.

“So what? And what’s wrong?” He asked a hint of confusion mixed with worry on his face as her hand reach out and gripped his arm tightly, her eyes getting even wider as a smile pulled at her lips.

“Ollie…I think my water just broke,” She whispered. Sure he enough when he glanced down he could see the proof of her words. He hopped up off the couch and helped her to stand as he spoke quickly. “We have to get you to the hospital and call Lois and tell her to wait for Nathan and Mia…and we need the bag and the keys and,” Chloe pressed her fingers against his lips shushing him as she met his eyes.

“Everything going to be fine Ollie…calm down.” She said before her grin widened. “We’re gonna have a baby,” She said softly and he couldn’t help returning her smile as he leaned down pressing a kiss against her lips.

“I know,” he brushed her hair behind her ears, “I love you so much.”

Her face softened as she cupped his cheek. “I love you too…Now let’s go have us a baby.” She said and Oliver chuckled lightly. “You got it Sidekick.”
