There was something about Oliver Queen that drew her in. She used to try and pinpoint one thing, a certain aspect or characteristic that kept her coming back, but she couldn’t and tonight she realized why. There wasn’t just one thing that had claimed a hold on her heart.
It was everything. It was the way his nimble fingers grazed hers when he taught her how to shoot his bow. It was the way his eyes lingered too long on her back as if he were undressing her with his eyes. It was the way he tilted his head and smiled at her, as though she held the answers to the most important questions in the world.
It was the way he said her name while plunging his body inside of hers, like she was the embodiment of everything passionate that he craved. It was the way his hands rubbed her back with just enough pressure to make her toes curl on those days she’d spent too many hours on the computer.
It was the way no matter where they were or what they were doing his eyes could read hers and know what she was thinking or feeling without her having to say a word. It was the trust he put in her so blindly even after all the mistakes she’d made.
Chloe sighed as her eyes flicked away from the computer screen and toward the center of the room. He stood in the middle of Watchtower, clad only in a pair of sweatpants, mat spread out on the floor as he did some kind of yoga or Tai Chi, Chloe wasn’t sure which.
And she couldn’t help the slight intake of breath as she watched him. He was beautiful. That was definitely part of the reason she couldn’t bring herself to leave him, but there was so much more to it. Oliver was smart and resourceful to a fault.
He was generous and kind even if most people didn’t realize it and even if it drove her absolutely crazy. Chloe hadn’t wanted to fall for him. She’d done everything in her power to keep him at bay, to not let his determination break down her barriers.
And she’d failed miserably. She was in love with Oliver Queen. He had grown on her. All the time they spent together, business and personal had evolved naturally leaving her clinging onto their relationship and his presence in her life, like balloons clung to hair when rubbed too hard together.
Static cling. It was how she described her relationship with Oliver. One minute they were two separate people each living their own lives and working together as friends, team members. And then it happened…friction. They came together in a collision of bodies, surrounded by passion and need.
Clinging to each other as he brought her to new heights of ecstasy and she made him forget the world around them. When it was over, each of them going back to their own lives, it was almost as if there was something tangible still holding them together.
Making her gravitate to his side and vice versa. She wanted to deny it, to make it go away, but she couldn’t. Their lives were no longer separate, but intertwined. They weren’t ‘Chloe’ and ‘Oliver’ anymore they were an ‘us’ a ‘we’.
A soft grunt from across the room pulled her from her thoughts. She took a deep breath and met his eyes. He grinned before moving into a handstand and she shook her head smiling lightly. There was something about Oliver Queen that drew her in.
She used to try and pinpoint one thing, a certain aspect or characteristic that kept her coming back, but she couldn’t and tonight she realized why. There wasn’t just one thing that had claimed a hold on her heart.
But if someone did ask Chloe to pick one thing that kept her coming back to him, she knew exactly what she’d tell them. Static cling.

Wow, I loved this so much.
ReplyDeleteLove it! So very Chloe, and very much enjoyed reading the relationship from her pov. Brilliant fic, though I suspect Oliver was just showing off in front of Chloe!
ReplyDeleteGreat start to my day!
I seriously loved this fic. I loved that you made this from Chloe's POV, how and why she fell in love with him. And I loved the way you described Oliver, because that's how I see him too. What a man he is!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Im part of the Ollie's fangirlies Club :P
Hee. Awesome. I don't even remember giving you this prompt honestly. XD But I love what you did with it. It does fit them pretty well.
ReplyDeleteGreat analogy. Hotter than I thought it would be when I hit. One line was seriously smutty. Loved that.
ReplyDeleteLoved her trying to analyse the why and coming to her theory. :) Nicely done.

Awww thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked this! I thought it would be nice to five into her thought process for this since it's kinda obvious how Ollie feels and not so much Chloe. OMG I'm a memeber of Ollie's Fangirlies Club too! Woot! hehe
Angela-
Lmao it was a while ago and I just realized the other day that I hadn't posted it LOL Glad you enjoyed it!
