Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

She had kept him at arm’s length for so long, building walls around her heart, because she had been afraid of what he’d been keeping from her. But the moment Lois found out that Clark was the red blue blur everything had changed.

From that point on Lois had been waiting for him to finally trust her with his secret. She glanced down at Clark lying beneath her in a pile of papers, his large hand reaching up to brush a wavy strand of chestnut hair behind her ear.

And now that he had, all those walls she had built to protect herself from being hurt had come tumbling silently down without out fight. She could finally stop fighting to keep her distance and take the next step in their relationship. Her heart warmed at the surprise on his face and she leaned down, capturing his lips in a fierce kiss.

This was it…the moment she’d been waiting for, the sign that she and Clark belonged together. That everything they’d been through meant something…that the destination had been worth the rocky road they’d traveled together. And as his lips caressed hers softly, she knew it had.

He hadn’t planned on telling her like that. It was originally why he’d brought her up here. But then he had chickened out as usual and when she turned away from him, it was almost as if he could feel her slipping away from him.

If he didn’t let her in…he was going to lose her, and he couldn’t let that happen with Lois. Things with her were different…they had always been different. He should have realized that. Clark had caught sight of her, hand outstretched to press the elevator button, the light hitting her hair making it brighten and gleam slightly.

Standing in that room with her, watching the hint of disappointment that had filtered across her face…he couldn’t take it anymore. Before he knew what was happening the words were falling from his mouth. The truth finally coming out after all the times he’d held it in.

Clark would never forget the bright look on Lois’s face when he told her, she looked like an angel and seconds later she had propelled her body forward knocking them both the ground, bits of paper flying around, above, and beneath them.

She released his mouth and he only gave her a second to suck in some much needed air before his lips were once again on hers, as one hand slid around her waist the other threading through her hair bringing her mouth closer to his.

This was it…the moment he’d been waiting for, the sign that he and Lois belonged together. That every lie he told, every truth he hid for her benefit wasn’t a waste…that the destination had been worth the rocky road they’d traveled together. And as she moaned softly into his mouth and he smiled against her lips, he knew it had been.
