It had all started with good intentions and experimental procedures. Tess had wanted to use Luthor Corps money and name to find a cure for different diseases. Something generic that could be given to someone with practically any disease.

Her scientists were top notch and their formula was missing one thing, the healing essence. Tess had personally gone through every 33.1 facility Lex had, and nothing…not one person with the ability to heal. She was baffled.

Tess was positive that she saw somewhere in Lex’s records that he’d experimented on someone with healing abilities, but whoever that someone was, they’d disappeared…until four nights ago. Tess moved pushed a button on her computer and a live feed popped up.

There, lying on a bed in a cell at one of the 33.1 facilities was Chloe Sullivan. She’d finally found the meteor infected person Lex was experimenting on, and by pure dumb luck too.

*Flashback*
Four Nights Ago

Tess walked out of The Planet and across the street to the CafĂ© to grab a cup of coffee. As she was crossing the street she caught sight of Chloe rushing down the sidewalk with a frantic look on her face. Tess frowned and glanced between the coffee shop and Chloe’s retreating back.

She couldn’t help her curiosity, so she followed Chloe and a few blocks later they ended up at Oliver’s Penthouse apartment. Well isn’t that interesting…thought Tess. She waited until the elevator closed behind Chloe before making her way into the building.

She smiled at the doorman before walking into the elevator and taking it up. She got off at the floor right below the Penthouse and took the stairs the rest of the way up. If she remembered correctly the stairway entrance opened up to the back of Oliver’s apartment.

Tess reached the door and when she tested the knob, she was surprised to find it unlocked. She pushed the door open slowly and quietly made her way into the apartment. She frowned when she heard a flurry of activity. She walked through the hallway and stood in an alcove peering around the corner.

Oliver was on his couch, bleeding from a very large wound on his chest. Chloe was bending over him with a grimace on her face as she spoke to the brown-haired boy next to her.

“How did this happen?”

Bart shrugged.

“I’m not sure. We were on a mission, I turned around for a second and when I came back he was on the floor.”

Chloe nodded before pulling off her gloves and moving Oliver’s shirt aside. Tess watched as she placed her hands over Oliver’s chest and closed her eyes. What the hell…Tess’s thoughts went blank when she saw the white light emanate from Chloe’s hands.

She watched as it started off small and then engulfed both her and Oliver. What seemed like seconds later the light vanished and Oliver sat up with a start. He glanced around the room frantically before his eyes settled on Chloe. Who other than looking a little pale, was fine.

“Thanks Sidekick…”

She smiled and nodded.

“Sorry it took so long to get here.”

Oliver stretched out his body as he spoke.

“No harm no foul…”

He grinned and Tess covered her mouth and slowly back away from the scene in front of her. Chloe Sullivan was meteor infected…how did she not know that? Tess quietly made her way out of Oliver’s apartment and back outside.

She’d found Lex’s healer…she found exactly what she needed to finish her project….

Present Time

A knock on her study door brought Tess out of her thoughts. She cleared her throat and spoke.

“Come in.”

The head of her security team made his way into the room followed by two other guards carrying an unconscious Lois. Tess glanced up and raised an eyebrow.

“Miss Mercer?”

“What happened?”

“We found her snooping around the grounds.”

Tess sighed and shook her head before standing up.

“She’s been running her mouth asking questions about her cousin for the past two days…this is unfortunate.”

“What should we do with her?”

“Take her to the facility her cousin’s in. She wants to find her so bad…let’s help her out…”

“Yes ma’am.”

They left the room Lois in tow and Tess let out a heavy breath. She wasn’t sure when everything got so messed up. The day she found out about Chloe she hadn’t wasted any time. Tess had a team infiltrate her house that evening and capture her.

Apparently they had to go through the same dark haired man she saw at Oliver’s apartment and he also had special gifts. At some point she’d have to look into that, but right now the only thing she was concerned about was Chloe’s healing ability.

Tonight she’d find out exactly what Chloe Sullivan is…and then she’d use her abilities to create her cure, no matter what…

********

Chloe paced back and forth in the cell. They’d thrown an unconscious Lois in with her about thirty minutes ago and she was still waiting for her cousin to wake up. A loud groan from the bed had Chloe quickly turning around. She ran over and crouched down next to Lois.

“Lo’…come on Lo’ wake up…hey…”

Lois frowned in confusion.

“Chloe?”

She smiled.

“In the flesh.”

Lois jerked her body up and pulled Chloe into a tight hug.

“I’ve been looking for you for days. What the hell happened to you?”

They pulled away from each other and Chloe sighed.

“It’s a long story.”

Lois looked around and raised an eyebrow at Chloe.

“It looks like we have time.”

Chloe bit her lip. She wasn’t sure she was ready to tell Lois about her meteor infected status. She took a deep breath and sat next to Lois.

“Have you seen Bart?”

Lois nodded.

“He’s been worried sick about you…we’ve been scouring the damn city and nothing.”

A look of relief crossed Chloe’s face.

“But he’s okay?”

“Yup…what’s going on cuz?”

Chloe sighed.

“Promise you won’t flip out…”

“I hate when people start sentences off like that.”

Chloe chuckled lightly.

“Luthor Corp is working on some kind of project….something about curing diseases…and Tess, the lovely person she is kidnapped me so she can use me for the final stages of their project.”

Lois frowned.

“Why would she want you?”

Chloe hesitated slightly before speaking.

“Because…of what I am.”

“And what is that exactly?”

“I’m meteor infected Lois…I have the power to heal people.”

Lois’s eyes went wide. How is that even possible? How is Chloe meteor infected? It doesn’t make any sense…It took Lois a few minutes for her to gather herself enough to say something.

“Meteor infected…like that guy made out of sand who framed Alicia?”
Chloe winced.

“Sort of except…well I’m not evil…obviously.”

Lois nodded.

“Right, of course. I didn’t…I mean…jeez Chlo, you really know how to shock a person don’t you?”

Chloe gave Lois half a smile and opened her mouth to say something when the sound of heels made their way down the hallway. Seconds later Tess was standing in front of the door with a grin on her face.

“Hello ladies, everyone having a good evening?”

Lois stood quickly and glared at Tess through the cell bars.

“I should have known you were behind this. Listen up Luthor wanna be, you better let Chloe and me out of here or I swear you’ll be sorry.”

Tess chuckled.

“I’m terrified Lois…really I am, but sorry Chloe isn’t going anywhere and neither are you.”

She motioned to the guards who unlocked the door and walked in. Lois jumped in front of Chloe and punched one of the smaller guards in the face, knocking him down. She ran forward and was caught by the arm by the second guard.

Two more came in the room and grabbed Chloe. She struggled against them, but they had her arms in a steal grip as Lois screamed for them to let Chloe go. As they were pushing Chloe out of the room there was a loud explosion behind Tess knocking the lights out in the facility.

Tess, Lois and one of the guards fell to the ground and when Chloe looked up it seemed like everything happened in slow motion. There was a loud clank, a bursting sound, and then the room filled with smoke. Chloe’s arms were released as everyone fell to the floor in a fit of coughing.

Lois glanced up and saw a green leather suit and a grin settled on her face as the Green Arrow lifted her by the arm and gave her something to put over her face. He started to tug her in the direction of the door, but she shook her head and spoke over the noise.

“We need to get Chloe!”

He moved so his mouth was by her ear.

“Don’t worry Bart’s on it. Come on we don’t have a lot of time Lo’ we gotta go.”

She hesitated for a second before letting Oliver pull her out of the cell to the door leading out of the facility. Chloe felt Bart before she saw him. His hands were pulling her up by the waist and she turned in his arms and grinned. He smiled.

“Well hey there good lookin’…”

Chloe chuckled.

“My hero…what took you so long?”

Bart laughed as he lifted her in his arms and sped out the door. Chloe held on tight until they were in front of Oliver’s private jet. He put her down and shut the door behind them once they were on the plane. The minute Lois saw Chloe she ran over and gave her a hug.

“Thank god you’re okay cuz…”

Chloe chuckled and when she pulled away they both plopped down on the lush seats. Bart came over and threw an arm around Chloe as he sat next to her.

“Sorry it took so long to find you Chloelicious. I knew that bottle red head took you, I just couldn’t figure out where she was keeping you. That is until Lois here went missing and Ollie had someone hack into the phone company and turn on the GPS to her cell phone…”

Chloe grinned at Oliver.

“Nice…and thank you.”

He shrugged.

“Hey you save my life on a pretty regular basis…it’s the least I could do.”

Lois frowned at Chloe, Oliver and Bart.

“Wait a minute…you know about Oliver? And you…why do you know about Oliver and what’s with the disappearing act you pulled on me the other day.”

They looked at each other and then turned to Lois. Bart smirked.

“Sorry about the disappearing act…it was quicker looking for Chlo on my own…and as for Oliver…we work together.”

Lois frowned.

“Doing what?”

She looked at Oliver and he sighed.

“You know Lois…it’s a long story…”

She scrunched up her eyebrows.

“Why does everyone keep saying that today?”

Chloe shrugged and cuddled up to Bart who placed a kiss on the top of her head.

“I promise when we get home Lo’, and after I shower…we’ll sit down and I’ll tell you everything…deal?”

Lois rolled her eyes and leaned back in the soft seat.

“Fine…but I’m holding you to that got it?”

Chloe gave Lois a warm smile.

“Got it.”

Lois nodded as she watched Bart whisper something in Chloe’s ear that made her chuckle, she let a small smile slip. She was glad Chloe was okay and everything worked out…Tess better have learned her lesson because next time she wouldn’t get off so easy…
