In life there are moments that make a person, moments that break a person, and moments that define the people who we will become. It was no surprise that Chloe Sullivan had, had her share of moments.

But as she stood in the middle of the tower staring at the date, the thought that she owed the person she was today to one moment imparticular was shocking.

If someone told her years ago that every decision she would make in her life would somehow be based on that one moment, Chloe would have said they were crazy.

But as she thought back to the choices she’d made over the years, Chloe knew it was true. It had started the night she found out Clark’s secret.

Learning about his origins had really put things into perspective for her back then. Knowing that there was someone out there with abilities like Clark’s, who chose to save people and never take any credit for it made her see that there was true goodness in the world.

And that knowledge made her want to be that kind of person too. So when Oliver offered her the temporary position of Watchtower on his team she took it. And it was while working with his team that she found her niche.

Somewhere down the line her position as Watchtower became permanent and her role as team member was upgraded to partner. Even Oliver looked to her when deciding on a course of action. The team was no longer ‘his’, but ‘theirs’.

A pair of strong arms wrapping around her waist knocked Chloe out of her thoughts. She tilted her head to the side and caught sight of Oliver’s grinning face. He pulled her so her back was flush against his front while leaning down and dropping a kiss on her shoulder.

“I called your name a few times. What’s going through that head of yours Sidekick?”

She shrugged and turned in his arms so they were facing each other.

“Just thinking.”

“About?”

“My life and how it turned out.”

He glanced down on her, humor no longer on his face as he cupped her cheek, thumb brushing against her lips.

“Well, what’s the verdict?”

Chloe grinned, leaning into his hand eyes sparkling with what he could only describe as happiness.

“Better than I could have imagined back then...wouldn’t change a thing.”

“Same here.”

Oliver gave her a warm smile before leaning in and capturing her lips with his as she let out a content sigh against them. In life there are moments that make a person, moments that break a person, and moments that define the people who we will become.

It was no surprise that Chloe Sullivan had, had her share of moments, but it was what she had done with those moments, what she had taken from them that defined who she was. And that was a person she would never give up.

  1. Oh gorgeous sweet, and very thought provoking too. It's why it was so naive and selfish of Clark to take her memories in Abyss. It wasn't just his secret anymore. It was everything she'd made of her life. :P
Aww Ollie was afraid she might have regrets. Just wanna hug him.

Only pitfall here - too short though!
