Chloe stared down at the birthday cake, horror etched into her face. This was not happening…there was no way this was happening today of all days. Oliver stood to her side trying his hardest not to let his laughter bubble to the surface as his eyes took in the design on their daughter’s birthday cake.

Chloe shook her head as a chuckle escaped his throat and her hand reached out slapping him against the chest none too gently. He grunted, brow furrowing slightly as she turned and pointed at the cake, eyes glaring in his direction.

“This is not funny.”

Oliver pursed his lips together, humor dancing in his eyes as he studied his wife’s face. “It’s a little funny…” Chloe jabbed her already outstretched hand at the cake sitting in its box on the kitchen island to punctuate her words.

“Oliver…there is a pornographic photo of a busty blonde getting it from behind curtsey of Green Arrow on our five year old daughter’s birthday cake…Tell me how is that funny?”

He arched an eyebrow at her as he cast his eyes onto the cake yet again, a smirk sliding onto his lips, “You know I actually think that’s one of my favorite ways to get you off Professor…now if only they had added a desk…”

His voice trailed off and Chloe groaned as her head fell into her hands. It was Avalon’s fifth birthday today and their daughter, who was surprisingly un-materialistic no matter how much her father spoiled her, had only asked for two things.

A bow and arrow just like her Father’s, but pink and a cake with a picture of Green Arrow in a pink uniform. Chloe knew it sounded weird, but much to Oliver’s disappointment their daughter hated the color green. She quite literally couldn’t stand it.

So ordering a cake where Green Arrow was in a pink uniform instead of green had been essential to the birthday party they were currently throwing. How in the world was she going to serve this cake to a bunch of five year olds?

Parents would riot and call her an unfit Mother…she still couldn’t wrap her finger around how what she’d said to the guy on the phone had ended up turning into what she was staring at. “I just don’t understand how they got this from what I said over the phone…it doesn’t make any sense.”

She pouted, Oliver’s arms wrapping around her from behind as he whispered against her ear, warm breath causing her to shiver slightly. “What I’m more curious about is how they knew Green Arrow prefers blondes…”

Chloe sighed, spinning around so she was facing him as his hands fell loosely to her hips. “Can you be serious for one minute? What are we going to do? We can’t give them this cake…look at it…it’s…like a still form of soft core porn.”

Oliver raised an eyebrow at her, “Been watching porn without me professor? Or have you been sneaking into my homemade collection?”

She rolled her eyes, moving out of his arms and poking him in the chest, “Fix this Oliver…or that collection you love so much is no longer going to be expanded…”

She glanced towards the doorway calling out to their daughter as she placed the cover back over the cake. “Ava!” Seconds later loud footfalls could be heard as she ran into the kitchen coming to a halt in front of her parents, her long blonde curls bouncing lightly, Green eyes wide and full of excitement as she stood in her frilly dress, pink bow in hand.

“Yea Mom?”

“Why don’t you see if Aunt Lois can wrangle everyone one up and you can open your gifts before we have the cake okay?”

She nodded her eyes darting towards Oliver as a large grin slid onto her face. She moved in his direction jumping up, his arms darting out to catch her. She giggled. “Hi Daddy.”

Chloe watched as his face broke out into a large grin, “Hello my frilly pink crime fighter…” He glanced at her bow before looking back at his daughter’s amused face. “What are you saving the world from today?”

“I’m saving the world from…spinach.”

Oliver shook his head as Avalon reached up and pinched his cheek. His kissed her small hand before putting her back on the ground. “Kid…you are so weird. And I’m convinced you get it from your Mother.”

She shook her head, “Un uh…Auntie Lois says I get it from you.” She gave him a toothy grin before darting out of the room shouting something about getting the mass of green mush. His eyes trailed over to Chloe who was biting her bottom lip.

“Seriously…your daughter is odd.”

She raised a perfectly sculpted brow at him while closing the distance between them, arms winding around his neck. “My daughter?” Oliver rolled his eyes good naturedly as his arms once again wound around her waist. “Oh fine…our daughter. Remind me again whose idea it was to let her have a superhero themed birthday party?”

“That would be you…I remember it clearly…she didn’t even get out the full sentence before you crumbled and told her we could do whatever her heart desired for a birthday party. You’re pitiful.” Oliver pouted.

“It’s not my fault…she's so damn cute…I can’t help it if her powers of persuasion are far greater than both of ours…it’s because she got my charm and your wit…this is going to be very dangerous when she’s older…”

Chloe chuckled, “Mmn poor you…you’re going to have to beat the boys away with a stick.” Oliver snorted as his arms tightened around her. “Or I can shoot them all with different kinds of arrows…I’ve been meaning to find new test subjects for different arrow combinations…”

She grinned up at him shaking her head, knowing he was probably seriously contemplating his words. Good thing they had a while before they needed to worry about it. “You Mr. Queen are incredibly adorable…”

He smirked placing a light kiss against her cheek and then neck before moving towards her lips. When he pulled back he winked at her. “Right back at ya Mrs. Queen...” Chloe sighed her eyes wondering back towards the offending box on the table.

“What are we gonna do about the cake?”

Oliver bit the inside of his cheek before moving over to the cake, flipping the lid open and staring at it. He grabbed a plastic knife and curiosity peaked on her features. She watched as he moved it around the cake for a few minutes before glancing around the counter and pulling a Hersey kiss out of a bag.

Two minutes later he let out a triumphant shout and turned to his wife with a smile. “Am I good or am I good?”

She gave him a skeptical look and moved forward eyes glancing over the cake, which surprisingly no longer looked provocative. “What did you do?”

He pointed, “I ran the knife over and scooped off the chick. See instead of holding her hips now he’s holding a chocolate kiss…its passable…”

She grinned, “You’re kinda adorable.”

He nodded as he peeled the busty blonde off the knife and ate her. “Don’t I know it. So…what exactly did you say to the bakery when you ordered the cake?”

She shrugged, “That I wanted a birthday cake with Green Arrow on it in a pink uniform for my daughter’s birthday.”

“Hmm odd…”

There was a short snort and a few loud chuckles from behind them causing them to turn towards the doorway. Bart, A.C. and Victor stood there and the frowns on Chloe and Oliver’s faces only made them laugh harder. A.C. grinned and motioned towards the cake.

“Having cake issues?”

Oliver’s eyes widened, “Did you…”

He shrugged. “That was for the bachelor party debacle…dude…you so deserved that.”

Oliver shook his head, arms folding over his chest as he smirked at their team of what were supposed to be superheroes as he spoke, “Hey…fair is fair…that prank I pulled was bad…but you’re forgetting one thing…” He motioned to Chloe. “She didn’t have anything to do with that…and you ruined our daughter’s birthday cake…”

His voice trailed off and three heads turned to find a very angry looking Chloe glaring at them. They gulped and when she took a step forward Bart was already gone. Victor and A.C. pushed against each other to make their way out of the doorway before Chloe could get to them.

Oliver laughed as he pulled his fuming wife against him. “Relax…we fixed it and I’m sure you’ll find a way to get back at that…”

She turned in his arms and sighed shaking her head, “You bet your ass I will…until then we should bring the cake out…”

He nodded, bending his head low and pressing a kiss under her ear, “Hmm we should…and then maybe later tonight we can prove just how true the image on that cake was…”

She pulled away from him a smirk settling onto her face as she grabbed the cake and headed towards the door but not before winking at him over her shoulder. “You’re on…tell Arrow to meet me at nine…I’ll be waiting for him.”

He watched her go, a look of awe and love covering his face. He didn’t know how he’d gotten so lucky, but hell he wasn’t gonna overanalyze it…nope, but he sure as hell was going to enjoy it.
