Chapter Three: The Dupe
Chapter 4
‘The Conversation’
The meeting was not going well. Being Oliver Queen was not all it was cracked up to be. He’d had several meetings since he went into Queen Industries and he had to have Chloe walk him through every single one of them. He never realized how much Oliver actually did during the day.
He sort of just assumed that being the boss meant being able to delegate responsibilities onto other people in the company. Apparently Oliver wasn’t that type of boss. He sighed as he hung up the phone and glanced up at Chloe.
“Are we done yet?” She rolled her eyes and pressed a few buttons on her laptop accessing Oliver’s schedule. She shook her head. “No you have one more meeting…shit…” Her voice trailed off and Clark sat up straight. “That doesn’t sound good…”
She glanced at the clock and let out a groan. “That’s because it isn’t. Your last meeting is in person…they’ll be here in the next few minutes…” She stood and moved over to him with an ear piece motioning for him to get up.
Clark pushed himself out of the chair and took the ear bud from her outstretched hand. She was in the process of hooking up the mic when it slipped from her hand and fell to the floor. She grunted before bending down to get it and on the way back up a few strands of her hair caught on Clark’s belt buckle.
She shifted and winced. “Ow.” Clark glanced down frown on his face, “Chloe what are you doing?” He moved and she shifted awkwardly with him while slapping his leg. “Damn it stop moving! I’m stuck.”
Confusion filled his face. “Stuck? On what?” Before she could answer there was a knock on the door followed by Oliver’s secretary pushing it open, her cheerful voice filling the room. “Mr. Queen, Miss Lane and Mr. Kent are here to see you. I told them you had a meeting, but…oh my god! I’m so sorry…”
The poor woman looked completely startled at the sight of Chloe’s head by the belt of his pants that her mouth hung open at a loss for words. At her startled exclamation Lois and Oliver moved towards the room and froze at the sight in front of them.
Clark waved his hands frantically, a nervous chuckle leaving his throat. “No, this isn’t what you think…she’s stuck…we weren’t…uh Annabelle…” Oliver’s secretary chimed in, “It’s Annabeth…” He nodded. “Right that’s what I meant…umm you can let them in and go.”
She gave him a curt nod before closing the doors behind her. Lois stood there hands crossed over her chest eyebrow raised. She tapped her foot, voice holding a hint of anger in it. “Something you want to tell me Clark?” He shook his head. “No, Chloe dropped something and then…she got stuck.”
She slapped Clark’s leg again. “Seriously stop moving…can someone please help me…Lo’…” Her cousin sighed, walked over to them bending down and helping Chloe untangle her hair from the belt buckle. When they stood she rubbed her head lightly before turning to face Oliver, who looked like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to laugh or yell.
Chloe grumbled as she moved over to the small couch. “Today sucks.” Lois snorted and followed her cousin to the couch sitting beside her. “You’re telling me. This idiot can’t even get simple questions right…the couples game show was a disaster.”
Oliver shrugged, “I said I was sorry, what more do you want from me? I’m sorry I don’t know you’re favorite number and the way you take your coffee and what brand of tooth paste you use…I mean Jesus who the hell knows useless shit like that?”
Lois eyed Oliver as her hands crossed over her chest, a perfectly sculpted eyebrow arched as she addressed him. “Perfectly useless things huh? What’s Chloe’s favorite number?”
Oliver pursed his lips, “Seven…”
“How does she take her coffee?” Oliver opened and closed his mouth, brows furrowing. “Strong, sweet and with a little cream…” His voice trailed off as Lois tilted her head to the side. “What kind of toothpaste does she use?”
“Cinnamon flavored Crest whitening with fluoride…”
“Comfort food?”
“Pie…and coffee flavored ice cream…” Lois smirked and he paused at the triumphant look on her face. Well hell, he had just completely walked into that. He slammed his mouth shut as she spoke. “I’m sorry…you were saying?”
Oliver glared at the brunette. “Well that’s different, of course I know my girlfriends likes and dislikes, I’d have to be an idiot not too.” Chloe’s eyes widened as she stared at Oliver. “Did you just call me your girlfriend?”
The room went silent and he swallowed hard. He hesitated before speaking, “I might have…would that be…bad if I did?” She licked her lips as sat up slightly. “Well it’s just…we’ve never talked about it…” Her voice trailed off and Clark frowned. “Wait a minute…you mean to tell me you’re sleeping together, but you aren’t dating?”
They turned to Clark and spoke simultaneously. “It’s complicated.” Lois grinned and shrugged as she spoke. “Apparently it’s not as complicated as you two think.” Before anyone could say anything there was another knock on the door before Annabeth popped her head in.
“Mr. Queen?” Oliver and Clark both answered her and she frowned. Before turning away from the dark haired man and glancing at Oliver’s body. “You’re next meeting is here…” Clark cleared his throat. “Give me five minutes and then you can send them in.”
She nodded before moving out of the room and shutting the doors quietly. Chloe lifted her laptop and spoke quickly. “Okay guys listen we don’t have much time. I might have a lead on where to start looking for the person that did this. Think you two can check out a lab on the outskirts of town?”
Clark frowned why was Chloe sending Lois to the lab where he and Oliver got sprayed in the first place? “Is that a good idea Chloe? What about the gas?” She glanced up at her friend and shook her head.
“Once someone’s been exposed to the gas, re-exposure doesn’t affect them and if it’s Lois you’re worried about Emil managed to figure out that the way it works is there have to be two living organisms in the room in order for it to work. So even if Lois did get sprayed there isn’t anyone for her to switch bodies with if she goes with Oliver…”
Lois held a hand out to her cousin and Chloe dropped a folded piece of paper into it while giving her a stern look. “Stay with Ollie Lo’…promise?” She rolled her eyes as she pushed herself away from the couch. “Sure thing cuz’ I’ll babysit your boyfriend…if you keep mine out of trouble.”
Chloe grinned, “What are cousin’s for if not boyfriend babysitting.” Oliver tilted his head to the side, face beaming. “You called me your boyfriend.” Chloe rolled her eyes and waved him off. “We’ll talk about it later.”
Lois motioned for him to follow her as she spoke over her shoulder to Clark. “Behave Smallville…” He watched as she and Oliver made their way out of the door before glancing towards Chloe. She motioned to his ear piece. “Put it in…I’m gonna go hide in the bathroom and guide you through the meeting from there. Just repeat what I say.”
He watched the blonde get up from the couch, laptop in hand as she moved into the bathroom. Clark sighed and plopped into the desk chair. He glanced at the clock and pouted slightly. It was after five and all he wanted to do was head home.
It had been decided earlier in the day while Oliver was at the Daily Planet with Lois that the four of them would spend the night at the farm together and hopefully compile enough information to find the person responsible for their switch.
The phone on the desk buzzed knocking Clark from his thoughts and he let out a short breath before telling Annabeth to let his five fifteen appointment in. He leaned back in the chair readying himself for yet another boring meeting. The day really couldn’t end soon enough.
______
Lois frowned slightly as she tried to keep up with Oliver as they made their way back towards her car. “Slow down there Rambo would you?” It had taken them close to an hour to get to the facility and then another twenty or so minutes to search the grounds only to come up empty handed.
Lois pressed the automatic lock button, unlocking the car and Oliver pulled open the passenger side door irritation coming off him in waves. He had just been there the other night with Clark and now it look like the place had been abandoned for years. He didn’t know what the hell was going on, but the whole situation was starting to piss him off.
He got in the car, pulled the door shut and slammed his fist on the inside panel, denting the metal. He swore as Lois got in the other side of the car. He shifted his body so he was blocking the damage he’d done to the door.
She glanced at him and sighed. “Well that was a bust…I guess Chloe’s intel was wrong.” Oliver shook his head. “No that was the place…someone is definitely messing with us…and we need to figure out who.” Lois had just turned away from Oliver when a siren and flashing lights sounded behind them.
Oliver groaned as Lois’s eyes widened. They were in a restricted area and had just been trespassing on government property…this wasn’t going to go well. The Metropolis PD car pulled up behind them and Lois spoke in a low voice quickly. “Kiss me.”
He gave her a startled look, “Excuse me?” She rolled her eyes and climbed over the divide and into Oliver’s lap. His lifted his hands up, mouth dropping open as he stared at the woman on his lap in shock. “What are you doing?”
“I’m getting us out of trouble. Hurry up before he gets out of the car. Grab my ass and put your hand on my chest.” Oliver floundered not entirely sure what to do. He could feel Clark’s body reacting to Lois’s proximity which made the situation that much more awkward.
She let out a frustrated sigh grabbed his hand slapped it onto her ass and took the other one placing it on her left breast as she leaned in to kiss him. Oliver made a noise of protest afraid if he tried to wrench the brunette off him he’d inadvertently break something.
He squeezed his mouth shut in an attempt to keep her tongue out of his mouth all the while counting backwards from a hundred trying to calm Clark’s body down. There was a light tapping on the window and Lois pulled away from him and pushed the window button.
She was breathing slightly heavy as Oliver’s hands remained where she placed them. She gave the officer a small smile and as she spoke. “Good evening officer…something we can do for you?” He arched an eyebrow and glanced between them.
“You kids can’t be here…this is a restricted area…I’m gonna have to ask you to move along…” Lois let out a ditzy chuckle and covered her mouth. “Opps…sorry about that…we just couldn’t wait…” Her voice trailed off and Oliver gave the officer a sheepish smile. “We’ll be going now though…come on sweetie…why don’t you start the car.”
He gave her ass a little tap and she climbed off him getting back into her seat. The cop frowned, but nodded moving a flashlight over them. “Don’t let me catch you two out here again.” They nodded and Oliver put up his window as Lois started the car, made a slow u-turn and pulled back onto the road.
They were silent for several minutes and when they could no longer see the cop she finally broke the silence. “That was close.” Oliver glared at her and pointed. “You molested me!” She smirked as she glanced out the window at the road.
“Oh please…like you didn’t like it…I felt that.” Oliver waved his hands flustered before pointing to Clark’s crotch. “That’s not me…that’s him. Just because I’m in his body it doesn’t mean that changes the way his body reacts to you…”
His voice trailed off and he leaned his head against his hand as he mumbled. “Oh god I’m gonna have nightmares about this…” Lois frowned. “Hey there pal…you act like I’m some kind of decease infected hooker…you realize you dated me right?”
He rolled his eyes as he glanced out the window. “Yes I know that, but now I’m with Chloe…and honestly it’s weird…look let’s just agree to keep our distance…though I’ll give you credit…it was a good idea.” She smiled and nodded as she turned onto the main highway. “That’s all I wanted to here.”
______
Chloe was in the kitchen sipping on a cup of coffee when the kitchen door opened and Lois and Oliver walked in. There was a frown on her cousin’s face as she spoke. “I still don’t understand how that dent got in the side of my car…do you think maybe someone hit the car while we were inside the facility?”
Oliver sighed as he shut the door behind them. He glanced up and saw Chloe sitting at the counter amusement dancing in her eyes as she listened to their conversation. He pursed his lips looking slightly uncomfortable. “Maybe…I don’t know.”
She let out a sigh and finally noticed Chloe. She waved slightly before speaking. “That place you sent us to had zilch, it didn’t even look functioning. I’m not sure what we were supposed to find…but whatever it is it wasn’t there.”
Chloe’s brow furrowed and she motioned to the steps. “Clark’s upstairs…he said he wanted to talk to you.” She nodded and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl before bounding up the stairs. Oliver let out a long breath and pulled a chair over to the counter plopping down in front of the small blonde.
He gave her a crooked smile and she attempted to return it. He brushed a hand over hers as he spoke. “What’s the matter Sidekick?” She shrugged. “It’s been a long day…the next time I complain about those big bear hugs you seem fond of giving remind me of this moment right now.”
He arched an eyebrow, “Why?” She pouted slightly. “Because all I want from you right now is one of those hugs.” His face softened and he shifted opening his arms. Chloe frowned and shook her head. “I can’t…I want your arms around me…not his…”
Oliver’s chest swelled with pride at her admission, voice soft as he spoke. “You know…I kinda wish I was in my body right now so I could show you how much I appreciate that statement.” She grinned and opened her mouth to say something when there was a shriek from upstairs.
“Oh my god! SMALLVILLE put some clothes on! Huh…I don’t remember Oliver looking like that…”
There was a shout from Clark and a few mumbled words from Lois as Chloe glanced at Oliver who had his eyes closed while shaking his head.
His voice was light when he spoke, but she could see the tension in his shoulders. “Lois just saw me naked…didn’t she?” Chloe pursed her lips, hands circling around her coffee. “From the sound of things? I’m gonna go with yeah.”
He lifted a hand to his head as he groaned. “You know what…I’m going to bed. I can’t deal with this kind of stress…I’ll never complain about my job again or be envious of Clark’s powers if I can just go back to being me.” She patted his hand lightly.
“Since you guys didn’t find anything at the facility we’re going to have to call Victor and see if he can identify the man I found on the footage. My software couldn’t find anything on him.” Oliver gave her a pitiful look. “Do we have to tell him?”
She looked at him and he pouted. “Damn it. We’re never gonna live this one down are we?” Chloe smirked. “Probably not…” Oliver nodded and let out a heavy sigh. He knew when he was beat.

Chapter Five: The Reversal
Love the update All the mishaps and adjustments they're going through are priceless. And how can Clark, I never forget anything, have forgotten he's still not in his body? He invited Lois upstairs, for what exactly. :D LMAO.
ReplyDeleteAnd poor Chloe missing her hugs. A hug from Clark's arms right now would be very awkward. But Oliver's smile on Clark's face as got to be comforting.
