Oliver Queen has never much cared for tabloids – where, as he puts it, "people are ruthless and cutthroat and will stop at nothing to destroy everything you’ve worked for." But lucky for us, we don’t fall into that category! In the first exclusive interview since his marriage, Queen, 33, talked to PEOPLE about his new wife, who his real life hero is, his role as CEO and whether or not he and his wife will be welcoming in the new generation of Queen’s anytime soon.

Tell us Mr. Queen, How does it feel to be a married man?
You know, it kinda feels the same as before. (laughs) No, really it’s great I mean my wife’s amazing…we’ve adjusted to married life pretty well and just the fact that I can call her my wife now makes me smile. I actually go around the house calling her Mrs. Queen. (while scratching to back of his neck and giving us a sheepish look) I think she’s uh actually starting to get annoyed with me about it. (laughs) It’s not my fault though; it’s still so new and seriously after the amount of time it took me to convince her to marry me can you blame me?

We’re doing our annual real life Hero’s issue here at PEOPLE and we were wondering what your take on Superhero’s in today’s world are and personally which one is your hero?
I have to say that as far as hero’s go…I think they’re an asset to the community and to the world. I know I feel better sending my 11-year-old to school knowing that if God forbid anything were to happen there are people out there looking out for him. And even though Mia is 20 now and in college I still worry. As safe as Met U is things happen…and knowing there are hero’s out there patrolling the streets, well it sets my mind at ease. (grinning) As far me…my wife is my hero. In all the years I’ve known her she’s saved my life dozens of times. Every time I turn around she’s working on some new project to change the world…she’s brave, determined, stubborn, and has the biggest heart out of anyone I’ve ever met. She’s responsible for the man I am today…

Speaking of Nathan and Mia how are they and how are they taking the marriage so far?
(smiling) They’re good. Nathan just started sixth grade and Mia’s attending Met U for Business and Computer Technology. I think they’ve actually been waiting for us to get marriage longer than we have. (laughing) We’ve been a family since before we were married, but it just makes everything more official and permanent.

We hear that Queen Industries is going to be partnering up with Wayne Enterprise for a new project. Can you tell us a little bit about it?
Actually we’re still putting the finishing touches on the details so I can’t really get into specifics about the project as of yet, but I can say that it’s definitely going to be surprising and very environmentally friendly. I’m all about going green. (grins)

So, tell us do you and your wife have any plans to add children of your own to your family? Will we be seeing any baby Queen’s in the near future?
(chuckling) Mia and Nathan might not be ours biologically, but we adopted them, so they don’t mean any less to us then our biological children will mean. Chloe and I are taking things a day at a time. Marriage is still new to us and we want to take advantage of the time we have together before expanding our family, but we both do want more kids, so I’m sure at some point in the near future...

The sound of the elevator chiming brought Chloe’s attention from the magazine article to the metal door. It slid open and Nathan ran out followed closely by a tired looking Oliver. She smiled as the 11-year-old came to a halt in front of her waving a piece of paper in the air.

“Chloe! Look I got a 100 on my social studies test!” She grinned. “Awesome, I’m so proud of you sweetie…we should add it to the fridge…do you have a lot of homework tonight?” He handed her the paper and shook his head. “Not too much, Ollie and I grabbed a snack on the way home so I’m gonna go start my homework…Mia said she might stop by after class tonight and take me for pizza!”

Chloe grinned and nodded. “Sounds like a plan kiddo…” Nathan returned the smile before waving at them and heading towards his room. Chloe glanced at Oliver who was leaning against the wall and raised an eyebrow. “Long day?” He pushed himself away from the wall and nodded as he plopped down on the couch next to her.

“Very…” His face softened as he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss against her lips. When he pulled back he smiled and brushed a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear, one hand going to the small of her back. “How’s my wife?” She shrugged. “Can’t complain…I might have missed you though…” Oliver grinned as he leaned back pulling her against his side as one hand slid over her silk covered stomach.

“How’s my baby?” Chloe smirked as she placed a light kiss on his jaw. “Hungry…we’re craving chocolate covered pineapples…you should be a good husband and go get me some.” He pursed his lips and studied her face. “Are you serious?” She tilted her head to the side and gave him her best puppy eyes. Oliver let out a light sigh but stared at her with affectionate eyes.

“Oh, alright…you’re just lucky I love you…what are you reading?” He motioned to her hands and she flipped the magazine closed so he could see the cover. Oliver grinned. “I didn’t realize it came out…was it today’s issue?” She nodded and tossed it on the coffee table. “Yup.” She shifted on the couch so she was kneeling next to him, eyes twinkling slightly.

“Am I really your hero?” He slid a hand down her back and yanked her onto his lap gently before nodding his head. “You most certainly are Professor.” She caressed his cheeks as she leaned in and captured his lips with hers. When she pulled back she smiled, expression warm, voice soft. “Have I mentioned I love you today?”

Oliver gave her a thoughtful look as his arms tightened around her. “Hmm I don’t think you’ve said it since this morning…I could always use a reminder.” She sighed lightly as his lips once again found hers, hands slipping beneath her shirt and caressing her back.

She moaned low in her throat and pulled back from him shaking her head. “I know what you’re doing…and it’s not going to work. We want chocolate covered pineapples…no sex until I get my food.” He chuckled and nodded as he gripped her hips and moved her off his lap.

“Okay, okay…do you want anything else while I’m out?” Chloe tapped her chin as he got up from the couch and fixed his jacket. “How about some chocolate covered strawberries…and some pickles…and maybe a loaf of asiago bread?”

Oliver saw the hopeful look on her face and he grinned. “I love you…did you know that?” Chloe nodded, leaned back into the cushion and grinned. “Yup.” He laughed lightly and spoke. “All those things are doable. I’ll be back in twenty minutes.” She smiled and he grabbed his keys as he headed towards the elevator.

He got in and right before the doors slid shut he heard her call out to him. “Get some bananas and mangos too.” He told her he would as the doors slid shut. He leaned against the railing as the elevator jerked to a start, his mind drifting to the article in the magazine.

Technically he had lied about having kids, but he and Chloe had agreed not to tell anyone until the first trimester was over just to be safe. He still couldn’t believe he was going to be a Father. The elevator had just stopped when Oliver’s phone beeped.

He stepped off the elevator, opened his phone and grinned down at the text message there. As he got into his car, started it up and pulled out of the underground garage he couldn’t help thinking how incredibly lucky he was to have Chloe in his life. He finally had the family he’d always wanted and it was better than he’d always imagined.
