Chloe was in the kitchen, bending over the stove as she checked on the pie in the oven. It was barely noon and she'd been cooking all morning with only a couple of small catastrophes. She stood and moved to the island.

They were telling the team today. They'd put it off long enough and with Watchtower down and her running the portable version from her laptop and Oliver's it seemed like this would be the only free time they'd have for a while.

She was nervous and delving into all of Mrs. Kent’s old recipes made her feel better. Besides they were going to need food when Bart got their anyway. It had been two weeks since Oliver was released from the hospital and she'd been staying at his penthouse since then.

Emil had stopped by earlier to give her a physical, schedule a date for them to come in for another sonogram and to check the rate at which Oliver was healing.

Things seemed to be looking good, though Emil did mention she needed to round out her diet more and limit her coffee intake to one cup a week. Chloe had nearly taken his head off.

Thus another reason for the food lining the island. She needed a distraction. Oliver made his way slowly into the room and spotted his very own blonde hurricane bending over pulling another pie out of the oven because apparently the three that were sitting in front of her weren't enough.

He sighed as he sat down on one of the stools. His chest was sore, but at least the pain had lessoned. He was up and walking again, but any strenuous activity was out for a few more weeks. She turned around and jumped almost dropping the pie.

"Jeez what are you doing Oliver?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Coming to check on my crazy girlfriend whose been cooking for the past three hours. You do realize you already have three pies right?"

Chloe rolled her eyes.

"Did you forget Bart was coming? Besides it calms me down."

Oliver let out a deep breath pulling her around the counter and towards him. She came willingly and stood between his legs as he held her hands in his.

"Chloe everything is going to be fine. These are our friends. They might be a little shocked, but they'll be happy for us. It's going to be okay. I'm right here with you."

She nodded and took a calming breath.

"I know, god I'm sorry for acting so ridiculous. It's just with Watchtower being destroyed, you barely being mobile, the Kandorians, Lois's hovering and Clark's denial of what's going on not to mention the lack of caffeine in my system I think I'm going a little nuts."

Oliver chuckled and raised a playful eyebrow.

"Really? I hadn't noticed."

She grumbled as he placed a kiss on her hand before slipping his palm under her shirt and over her stomach. He could feel the curve of her abdomen against his hand and he smiled.

"Five more months and Jr. Here will keep us busier than Watchtower and the team ever could. Speaking of teams did you contact big bird?"

Chloe rolled her eyes.

"You mean Hawkman? As a matter of fact I did. I haven't heard back yet though."

She pushed away from him gently and moved back toward the oven placing a wrapped tray into it before glancing over her shoulder at him.

"Are you gonna get dressed? They're gonna be here soon Ollie."

He stood slowly and nodded.

"Just wanted to check on my favorite blonde first."

He smirked and she shook her head smile on her face as he disappeared back into his room to get ready. Chloe wiped her hands and turned toward the stove. Fifteen minutes later as she was pulling the pot off the stove a rush of wind went by and when she glanced up Bart was grinning back at her.

“Mamacita! It’s been too long.”

Chloe grinned, put the pot in the sink and turned only to be pulled into a tight hug by the youngest member of the league. She let out a small ‘oomph’ and chuckled, wrapping her arms around him as she smiled.

“Bart, it’s good to see you too.”

She pulled back and he leaned against the counter eyeing the pies. She cleared her throat to get his attention and raised an eyebrow.

“So…where’s everyone else? I thought you were all taking one of the Queen Industry jets together.”

Bart snorted.

“Like I’d leave earlier than necessary. I stayed in Star City until Victor called and said they landed. They should be here any minute. Where’s stretch? He coming later?”
Chloe shook her head.

“No, Clark’s busy. His mom came into town unannounced. So she’s cooking dinner for him, Lois and her new boyfriend.”

Bart nodded.

“Way to go Mrs. K! So where’s the boss man?”

Chloe opened her mouth and Oliver took that moment to walk into the kitchen. He smirked in Bart’s direction.

“Miss me?”

Bart rolled his eyes but moved and patted Oliver on the arm.

“Tons, except not really because I like headquarters in Star City so much better when you aren’t there.”

Chloe laughed and Oliver gave Bart a playful glare.

“Mmm that’s because no one else even attempts to keep you in line.”

“Kill joy.”

“Speed demon.”

Bart frowned.

“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”

“Children, behave. Bart make the speedy Gonzales in you useful and put the plates and cups out on the dining room table. Ollie call down to the doorman and make sure the guys are cleared to come in the building.”

He nodded and Bart saluted her.

“Anything for you gorgeous.”

He winked and was gone in a flash. Oliver watched him speeding back and forth and sighed before speaking softly to her.

“His flirting is annoying.”

“Don’t whine.”

Oliver grumbled as he called downstairs. Not long later there was a knock on the door and as Bart moved to answer it Chloe’s heartbeat sped up. This was it. It was finally time to let the proverbial cat out of the bag. There was no going back from here.

Once she and Oliver told the team about the baby…everything would be that much more real. Chloe took a deep breath and let it out. She could do this. It was time to take the next step…

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Oliver chuckled at something A.C. said as he glanced around the room looking for Chloe. He had no clue where she went. It had been a little over two hours and everyone was almost finished eating and they still hadn’t told them about the baby yet.

He pushed away from the table and headed into the kitchen. He started tossing a few things in the sink when he felt a small hand travel across his back and grip his side. He smiled and spoke as he spun around.

“Well well professor someone…Dinah.”

Oliver cleared he throat as he shifted so her hands were no longer against him.

“Expecting someone else?”

“Uhh…”

She seemed startled as she took a step back arms crossing over her chest.

“Are you seeing someone? Is that why you haven’t called in months? How could you not tell me Oliver?”

“Dinah it’s…complicated.”

“Too complicated that you couldn’t have said, ‘Oh hey by the way Dinah I’m seeing someone so don’t bother waiting around for me.’ Unbelievable.”

He winced and glanced around to make sure the team wasn’t in ear shot. He shushed her and sighed.

“Can you possibly keep quiet? I didn’t exactly mention what happened with us and I’d like to keep it that way. I’m sorry okay, but I thought we agreed it was a onetime thing.”

He watched hurt cross Dinah’s face for about a second before she buried it, her jaw clenching as she spoke in a low voice.

“You decided.”

He swallowed hard and hesitated before speaking, voice soft.

“Dinah…Honestly I am sorry. I wasn’t in the best of places when things happened with us and now…I’m seeing someone. I have been for a while.”

“Define a while.”

He shrugged.

“A little over six months.”

Her voice was clipped, indifferent, but he could see the pain in her eyes.

“Is it serious?”

“Yes.”

“Do you…do you love her?”

He opened his mouth and then shut it. Dinah studied the expressions that crossed his face and let out a long breath. He didn’t even need to answer her. Oliver nodded.

“Yeah, I think I do.”

Dinah opened her mouth when Chloe walked out of the hallway and smiled at them. Oliver stood up straight when he saw her clearing his throat.

“Hey I was looking for you. Where’d you go?”

“Clark called; he needed some help with a few things, so I was just finding some info for him.”

Oliver nodded as Chloe spoke to Dinah.

“So how’d you like your first solo mission?”

She turned around and smiled at the tiny blonde.

“It was pretty easy. Thanks again for walking me through everything. I wouldn’t have been able to get out of that web of a facility if it wasn’t for you. Have I mentioned how glad I am that I’m not the only girl in the league anymore?”

Chloe laughed.

“More than once I think. Is everyone done eating?”

“Almost, we should tell them why we asked them to come here.”

She gave him a nervous look, but nodded. They made their way back inside and Dinah sat next to Victor who was picking on A.C. She rolled her eyes and slapped him lightly on the arm as Oliver cleared his throat and the room glanced over at him and Chloe.

“So I guess you’re wondering why we asked you guys to come here.”

Bart shoved another piece of pie into his mouth as he spoke with his mouth full.

“Not rweally man. The Kandowians…war…we get it.”

Chloe let out a nervous chuckle.

“Actually that’s why we’d like you to stay for a little while, but that’s not exactly why we called you here. There’s something we need to tell you.”

Chloe glanced at Oliver as he slid an arm around her and spoke, hesitant smile on his face as he stared at their friends watching them closely.

“Chloe and I are seeing each other.”

Victor smirked, A.C.’s face was filled with confusion, Bart looked like someone just shot his puppy, Dinah had paled and J’onn wore a carefree smile on his face. Chloe swallowed hard as Oliver squeezed her hand lightly.

“And that’s not all…I’m pregnant. Ollie and I…we’re gonna have a baby.”

The whole room froze and Chloe’s anxiety sky rocketed. Oliver hoped somebody said something soon or he was afraid she might explode. Right when he was about to break the silence J’onn stepped forward and offered Oliver his hand.

“A baby, that’s wonderful.”

J’onn could see the grateful look on Oliver’s face as he took his hand and shook it. He leaned over and gave Chloe a hug making sure to take care with her before moving back.

“Thanks J’onn, we appreciate that.”

A.C.’s voice was next to break the silence.

“Dudes…a mini version of you guys…crap. You realize with her smarts and your looks this kid is going to be able to play us all like a fiddle…right?”

They laughed and he got up and moved over to congratulate them. Victor was the next one up as Bart sat there a devastated look on his face.

“How could you do this to me Chloelicious? What’s the boss man got that I don’t got?”

He pouted and Chloe gave him a sympathetic look before opening her mouth, but before she could say anything Oliver spoke as he tightened his arm around her.

“Her.”

Bart glared at him and everyone around them chuckled.

“I wasn’t talk to you Judas.”

Oliver frowned.

“Hey now, it’s not my fault she chose me instead of you.”

“Oliver!”

Chloe shook her head and slapped him lightly.

“Ignore him. You know I adore you Bart.”

Victor’s brows creased.

“What about us?”

She rolled her eyes.

“You all have a special place in my heart, no fighting.”

They grinned and J’onn glanced at Oliver as he spoke.

“She’s already got the mothering thing down.”

Amusement crossed Oliver’s face at J’onn’s words before he turned toward Dinah. She sat there quietly and when their eyes met she looked away and stood before walking towards Chloe. She glanced at the blonde in front of her and there was a period of time where Oliver didn’t breath.

“Congratulations Chloe.”

He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding when they hugged briefly. Everyone was in high spirits and as they stood there and watched them he nudged her lightly. She raised an eyebrow at him and he smirked.

“I told you so.”

She rolled her eyes.

“What are you? Five?”

Their eyes locked and the look on his face made her soften as he leaned down and briefly captured her lips in a kiss. When he pulled back slightly his warm breath brushed against her.

“No, not five…just happy.”

Her throat was thick with emotion and so she pulled him in for another kiss hoping to pour her feelings into the melding of lips. When they broke apart she let out a content sigh as the guys fought over who would make the best Uncle.

Chloe laughed and Oliver grinned as they watched their friends…their team…their family joke around like they didn’t have a care in the world and in that moment they didn’t.

In that moment they weren’t superheroes or co-workers, they were just regular people celebrating in life’s unexpected surprises. Something that Oliver realized in the clarity of the moment that he was very grateful for.

  5. I like that you included a little Oliver and Dinah moment. There had to be something going on before between Siren, Doomsday and Absolute Justice. Even if Ollie was the one to end it ;) I'm just glad she bore no hard feelings to Chloe. I think it's because Dinah is a great girl and she loves Chloe like a sister. Very sweet, and I felt so sorry for Bart :(

I just read all of them and they are all great. Wonderfully done.

The Dollie thing was a total curveball to me. I liked the way Dinah handled the news and didn't recent Chloe at all, she wasn't an bitter ex-lover and you're Bart is just adorable. I think I have a major weakspot for him lol

    Amazing job with this. :)

  9. Ahhh feel better now...Pet peeve minimized LOL. I guess I'm odd gal out because I'm not a big Dollie fan? Dinah is okay I guess just wasn't a big fan. Hmmm oh well. Personally I'd rather they had brought someone else in like Wonder Woman or some other bad ass woman. BUT that's my opinion...oh well! Still love this series tho!

  10. @justbeyourself Haha yes! The coffee has been minimized! *grins* Oh I'm not a Dollie fan LOL. Not that I have anything against them, because I don't :) This series was meant to follow canon, and they implied something had been going on with them through the whole email thing, so I just tossed in them having a one night kinda thing LOL.

I don't ever put Oliver and Dinah together in my stories. Not as more than friend. I like Dinah's character and I like the JL, but I only ship Chlollie :)

Aw, thanks again! I'm so glad you're loving this! :)
