Is this a dream?
If it is please, don't wake me from this high
I've become comfortably numb, until you opened up my eyes
To what it's like when everything's right, I can't believe

You found me when no one else was lookin'
How did you know just where I would be?
Yeah, you broke through all of my confusion
The ups and the downs and you still didn't leave
I guess that you saw what nobody could see
You found me, you found me

She wasn’t sure what to think…a world where she and Ultraman weren’t enemies? It was hard for Lois to even believe that such a place existed…but she wanted to. When he’d taken her she had been scared, but as he stood on the roof talking to her, her fear had fallen away and was replaced with anger.

An emotion she was all too familiar with, but when she yelled and he said nothing, just stood there and took it she knew there was something different about him, and that something had ignited a spark inside of her. Clark Kent…a version of Ultraman that wasn’t evil…that helped the helpless and fought for truth and justice, it was a ridiculous notion, but she found herself believing it.

With a simple touch he had made her feel more alive than anyone ever had. He’d opened her eyes to the possibility of a different life, a hope that out there somewhere there was a version of herself that was happy, loved, and helped pave the way for heroes in the world.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t happy, but sometimes she just felt like there was more out there than what she had. Like she was living comfortably numb from the world around her and it took some stranger from an alternate reality to help her see the light.

He found her when she hadn’t even realized she was lost. How did he know that the few moments they shared…the words he’d left with her would have a permanent effect on the course her life would take after him? Clark Kent broke through her confusion, the things that had been weighing her down for so long giving her the courage to walk a different path.

The sound of the balcony door opening brought her from her thoughts and she glanced up at Oliver, a glass of whiskey in his hands. She cared about him…and she knew that he cared about her, but Lois also knew that they had both settled for something that was convenient instead of what they had wanted.

At least Oliver had. As much as the man in front of her loved her, it would never rival the love he felt for the woman who had been taken from him…the woman he loved, but could no longer have. He glanced at her bag before his eyes drifted back up to her face. Her gave her half a smile, eyes tired and worn.

“You’re leaving.” It wasn’t a question and she tilted her head to the side and took a step forward, voice soft. “I don’t belong here…we both know it. I love you Ollie…but--” He cut her off voice hoarse. “But we’re not in love…I know…”

She swallowed hard and nodded as she headed for the elevator. She paused glancing over her shoulder at him. “I’ll always be here if you need me…you’ll always be my friend…I just…I need to see what’s out there.” Oliver nodded placing his glance down. “I know…and I’ll always be here if you need me…but he was right you know…there needs to be more than this out there…and whatever it is I hope you find it.”

She smiled, placing her hand over her lips blowing him a kiss before stepping into the elevator. As the doors slid shut she felt a weight she hadn’t known was there lifting from her shoulders, the memory of warm blue eyes propelling her forward into the unknown, but knowing in her heart that everything would work out in the end.
