I'd catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I'd jump in front of a train for ya
You know I'd do anything for ya

He came back for her. Well technically he hadn’t actually been there to begin with, but still he found her. Powers, no powers Clark was forever throwing himself into dangerous situations for her. Tonight had just been another example of what he was willing to risk for her.

When they had tied her up to that wooden pole like a goddamned witch he’d swooped in, untying her, lifting her up and saving the day as usual. And of course it wasn’t the first time he had saved her life. She used to go around day dreaming about the Red Blue Blur, and how great he was meanwhile never knowing that the real hero all along was her quiet little farmboy.

When she first made her way back to Metropolis from her little trip to the future and landed smack dead in the middle of a moving train, Clark had been the one to jump in front of said train and saving her when some psycho bitch from the future tried to kill her on it.

Sure he had powers so taking bullets for her, throwing his hands in front of blades when muggers were trying to steal her purse wouldn’t ever really hurt him, but that wasn’t why he did it. Clark didn’t think before he leapt and Lois was almost 100 percent certain that even if he wasn’t some kind of superhero he’d still risk his life to protect her and she would undoubtedly do the same.

That’s what loving someone was, being willing to do anything for each other, risk it all and that’s exactly what Lois was going to do tonight. She was ready to take a risk…to bring their relationship to the next level. She watched him as he stood in the kitchen brushing soot off his shirt.

She stood and slowly walked over to him. Clark caught sight of her and glanced up giving her a questioning look. Lois sent him a warm smile before leaning up and pressing a soft kiss to his lips while gripping his cheek.

He returned the kiss wrapping his arms around her and groaning into her mouth. She smelled of fire and herbs and yet he’d never smelt anything better. When they broke apart, they were still in each other’s arms neither wanting to pull away.

Lois caught his eyes before speaking in a voice that was barely above a whisper, but Clark being Clark heard every word clearly. “It’s time for bed Smallville…”She let the sentence trail off but he caught her meaning from the look in her eyes.

He swallowed hard voice light. “Are you sure?” She nodded and grinned placing a kiss against his jaw. “I’ve never been more sure.” Clark smiled lifting her up in his arms and placing a kiss on her lips as he walked them upstairs. She continued placing small soft kisses along his jaw line all the while thinking this was it…this was the moment everything changed and she couldn’t wait.

The Secret

Title: The Secret
Rating: PG-13
Author: Sxymami0909
Fandom: Smallville
Spoilers: Set after Smallville season 10 finale
Pairing: Clark/Lois
Word Count: 635
Song: “Decode” by Paramore

The truth is hiding in your eyes
And it's hanging on your tongue
Just boiling in my blood

But you think that I can't see
What kind of man that you are
If you're a man at all
Well, I will figure this one out
On my own

Lois Lane had a secret. One she couldn’t tell anyone, not even her fiancé. Three months ago when Darkseid had attacked Metropolis and the Justice League, Clark had not only discovered a new power, but had been forced to erase the memory of his secret from everyone not directly related to the Justice League, but apparently something had gone very wrong.

She sat in the bullpen of the Daily Planet watching her fiancé type up a report from across the room and she couldn’t help but wonder why she hadn’t forgotten when it was obvious Clark thought she had. Every once in a while she would see him sending her a look of guilt and it was times like those she wanted to jump out of her seat and tell him he had no reason to feel guilty because she knew everything.

But she never did. Oliver and Chloe skirted around the subject and made excuses for him whenever they visited from Star City and Lois dutifully acted clueless while secretly feeling both elated and frustrated that she had this knowledge that she couldn’t tell anyone about.

Every day that she watched him, she realized how silly her disguise for him had been even though everyone seemed to fall for it. The truth was hiding in his eyes and it was hanging on her tongue, but she was afraid if she told him she knew, that whatever kind of mind warp he had attempted to use didn’t work, then he’d try all over again and that was something she couldn’t let happen.

Lois didn’t know why Clark had tried to wipe her memory, but she knew him well enough to know that it was most likely some kind of misguided attempt at protecting her and so she’d go with it for a little while and let him think that she was slowly putting the pieces together.

He thought she couldn’t see the kind of man that he was, but she’d prove him wrong. Clark glanced up from his computer screen; his eyes meeting Lois’s and he pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose and smiled at her. She returned it, but the look in her eyes startled him slightly.

There was a spark of recognition in them that made his chest tighten. Was it possible? Could she know? He watched her blink and then the look was gone as she winked at him and went back to whatever she was doing at her desk causing him to let out a long breath.

Taking away her memories had been harder than taking Tess’s. Being honest with Lois, her knowing who he really was and loving all of him, meant the world to him, but it had been exposed that she knew the blurs identity when Darkseid attacked and Lex came out of hiding and too many of his enemies had come after her.

So he did the only thing he knew how to, he wiped any existing memories of his alter ego from her and came forth to the world as Superman. It was hard and not having Lois to support him was difficult, but he was getting through it and he knew Lois better than anyone.

Eventually she’d figure it out and when she did, this time they’d be more careful. With her being engaged to mild mannered reporter Clark Kent, no one would ever suspect her connection to Superman. Until then, he’d wait knowing someday soon Lois would once again share his secret.

Song: “One in a Million” by Bosson from Ziva21

You're one in a million
You're once in a lifetime
You made me discover all the stars above us

I've been looking for that special one
And I've been searching for someone to give my love
And when I thought that all the hope was gone
You smile, there you were and I was gone

Clark shifted pulling the blanket tighter around them when he felt Lois shiver slightly against his side. He tilted his head and watched as his fiancé twisted the side to the telescope she’d gotten him last year as she zoomed in on a small cluster of stars in front of them.

His Mom, Chloe and Oliver had all gone home yesterday just in time for him and Lois to spend their first Valentine’s Day alone together as an engaged couple. He and Oliver had spent the last three days brainstorming Valentine’s Day ideas to surprise their respective woman with, but in the end Lois had been the one to surprise him.

He had come home earlier in the day to find the table set and her cooking dinner for them. Clark had been planning to take her out to a nice restaurant, but since she had gone through all the trouble of cooking he didn’t bother bringing it up.

Instead he helped where he could and they laughed and talked just like a normal couple. It was nice and as he sat at the counter and watched her making her way around the kitchen, it was almost as if he’d seen his future flash before his eyes.

He could see their life, full of dinner’s and quite moments…maybe even having a kid or two…being a family. For so long Clark had thought his future rested with Lana Lang…but honestly as much as he’d never forget his first love…she was not the woman he was meant to spend forever with.

Lana was never able to accept the side of him that Lois treated like a little quark. Oh you’re a strange visitor from outer space? Cool…are you gonna eat the rest of that steak? Lois was one in a million. He grinned when a poke of cool metal against his arm knocked him out of his thoughts.

He glanced at his fiancé and she arched an eyebrow in his direction. “You zoning out on me Smallville?” He shook his head and tightened the arm that was wrapped around her. “No, just thinking…I’m a pretty lucky guy…”

Lois smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek as she rested her head against his chest, the blanket soft against her side as she shifted on the ground and glanced at the blinking lights around them. “Sorry about burning dinner.” Clark chuckled and she felt her head bounce at the movement. “It’s my fault…I think I might have distracted you.”

She grinned as her hands danced up his chest toward his chin. “You certainly did…but I sure as hell wasn’t complaining…though next time we might want to make sure the stoves off…can you imagine having to explain to your Mom how we burnt down the kitchen?”

Clark winced but there was humor in his eyes as he turned his face to gaze at the brunette by his side. “That would certainly be an awkward conversation…maybe we could blame it on someone else?” He gave her a hopeful look and Lois smirked, mischief in her eyes.

“We can blame it on Chloe and Oliver…it seems like something they would do. We’re way more responsible…” Clark nodded while trying to hide his smile. “Yes of course we are…but why were Chloe and Oliver having sex in our kitchen?”

Lois gave him a thoughtful look and shrugged. “I dunno…why does anyone have sex in the kitchen? They got bored…seems like a good enough reason for me.” He laughed lightly and pressed a kiss against her lips before tucking her further under his arm.

Silence settled between them as Lois rubbed his stomach lightly, as she studied the darkened sky. She could see why he loved this so much…why being close to the stars or as close as he could get might be appealing. Her voice was quite when she spoke, a hint of wonder in her it.

“Do you ever wonder what it would be like to visit the stars…find your planet…I mean if it was still there?” Clark shrugged. “Sometimes…but the truth is I belong here…this is my home.” He turned his head slightly gazing down on her. “You’re my home…I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else…I’m not sure I can remember what it’s like to live without you…and I don’t want to find out.”

She tightened her arms around him and nodded. “You won’t…I’m not going anywhere.” He lifted a hand to her hair caressing it lightly. “And neither am I…” Silence once again settled between them, the sound of crickets and the light gusts of wind filling the night air between them.

Lois placed a light kiss against Clark’s jaw, voice barely a whisper as she rested her head under his chin. “Happy Valentine’s Day Smallville…” He grinned warmth filling his chest as he stared at a particularly bright star in the sky. “Happy Valentine’s Day Lo’…”

Song: “Halo” by Beyonce from Svgurl

Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

She had kept him at arm’s length for so long, building walls around her heart, because she had been afraid of what he’d been keeping from her. But the moment Lois found out that Clark was the red blue blur everything had changed.

From that point on Lois had been waiting for him to finally trust her with his secret. She glanced down at Clark lying beneath her in a pile of papers, his large hand reaching up to brush a wavy strand of chestnut hair behind her ear.

And now that he had, all those walls she had built to protect herself from being hurt had come tumbling silently down without out fight. She could finally stop fighting to keep her distance and take the next step in their relationship. Her heart warmed at the surprise on his face and she leaned down, capturing his lips in a fierce kiss.

This was it…the moment she’d been waiting for, the sign that she and Clark belonged together. That everything they’d been through meant something…that the destination had been worth the rocky road they’d traveled together. And as his lips caressed hers softly, she knew it had.

He hadn’t planned on telling her like that. It was originally why he’d brought her up here. But then he had chickened out as usual and when she turned away from him, it was almost as if he could feel her slipping away from him.

If he didn’t let her in…he was going to lose her, and he couldn’t let that happen with Lois. Things with her were different…they had always been different. He should have realized that. Clark had caught sight of her, hand outstretched to press the elevator button, the light hitting her hair making it brighten and gleam slightly.

Standing in that room with her, watching the hint of disappointment that had filtered across her face…he couldn’t take it anymore. Before he knew what was happening the words were falling from his mouth. The truth finally coming out after all the times he’d held it in.

Clark would never forget the bright look on Lois’s face when he told her, she looked like an angel and seconds later she had propelled her body forward knocking them both the ground, bits of paper flying around, above, and beneath them.

She released his mouth and he only gave her a second to suck in some much needed air before his lips were once again on hers, as one hand slid around her waist the other threading through her hair bringing her mouth closer to his.

This was it…the moment he’d been waiting for, the sign that he and Lois belonged together. That every lie he told, every truth he hid for her benefit wasn’t a waste…that the destination had been worth the rocky road they’d traveled together. And as she moaned softly into his mouth and he smiled against her lips, he knew it had been.
