Chloe was at her desk typing up her latest article when the bustling and noisy building around the bullpen suddenly went eerily quiet. Her fingers paused on the keyboard dread filling her. He was there…in the Star City Register building, she could feel him before she even saw the top of his blonde spiked hair through the glass doors.

There was absolutely no way she was letting him come inside the bullpen. Sure Randal and the video guy knew they were married, but they had managed to keep it quiet from her fellow writers at her request. She had explained that she didn’t want to be judged by who she knew and she wanted people to know that she’d gotten this job based on merit and not who her husband was.

So there was no way after two weeks of slinking around that she was going to let him come there and mess it all up. She squinted her eyes and pushed her chair away from her desk quickly making her way out into the hallway and meeting him before he had a chance to make it to the door.

He grinned and opened his mouth when Chloe suddenly appeared before him, but she cut off whatever he was about to say, hand planted on his chest, eyebrow arched in question as she spoke. “What are you doing here?” He paused, glancing down at her small palm against his chest before looking back at her.

“Uh…my meeting was canceled I was going to see if you wanted to grab lunch?” She shook her head and frowned. “Oliver…we already had this discussion.” He frowned. “We did?” She nodded and motioned behind her towards the bullpen where people were finally starting to notice the billionaire in the hallway.

“You can’t come here…not until everyone gets to know me for me. Remember the whole I want my life back thing? Well that doesn’t include my fellow writers looking at me as Oliver Queens wife…you said you were okay with this…what changed?”

He glanced at her frantic looking face and he shook his head as he gave her a sheepish smile. “Right…no nothing changed…I just sort of forgot. For some reason I thought when your editor found out so did everyone else…I’m sorry Sidekick honest…”

She gave him a soft smile as she rubbed his arm slightly. “It’s fine. Just get out of here before people start to notice you.” He nodded and grinned. “Will do…meet me at Alessio’s in twenty?” She gave him a warm smile. “Anything for you hero.” Oliver winked at her and she leaned up pressing a kiss to his lips, his hands automatically going around her waist.

There was a loud crash behind them startling them apart and when they glanced over at the window several of Chloe’s co-workers were standing there mouths gaping open as they watched the couple embrace through the glass windows. Oliver chuckled as Chloe let out a sigh. “Well shit…that was completely my fault…”
