I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don’t shed a tear

Where it was dark now there’s light
Where there was pain now there’s joy
Where there was weakness, I found my strength
All in the eyes of a boy

Chloe stood on the balcony, arms resting over the banister; glass in her hand as she gazed out over the city. There was a cool breeze milling about her as the light from the moon gleamed down making the night bright, almost majestic. She couldn’t believe everything that had happened in the past 24 hours.

Her lips pulled into a grin as she thought back to earlier when Oliver had followed her out of Watchtower, pulling the other half of the marriage license out of his pocket. She didn’t think she’d ever been so happy in her life. She was married.

She was someone’s wife…no…she was Oliver’s wife. She couldn’t help the carefree laugh that bubbled from her throat. Chloe was pretty sure that she’d never been this happy before. She had been terrified of telling Oliver she was leaving again.

Scared he’d get angry, scared he’d be hurt, or worse that he’d decide she wasn’t worth all this effort. But he had surprised her by not only knowing about her job in Star City, but by not thinking twice before agreeing to go with her. She didn’t even have to ask.

He was currently inside the penthouse right now packing up a few things and calling his pilot so they could leave for California in the morning. Chloe had waited so long for this moment, to feel utterly accepted and loved by one person.

Heading to Star City with her husband…going back into Journalism…her life was better than she ever imagined it could be. The six months she’d been away from him had been hell, but if it took going through that to get here she’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Oliver was her light in dark. When she’d been away all those months he was what had kept her going, the thought that she’d be able to come home and see him soon. In her weakest moments when tears had streamed down her face and she had missed the people she loved, Chloe had been able to find her strength and grasp onto hope.

It hadn’t been easy, but it was worth it. The feel of two strong arms winding around her waist from behind knocked her from her thoughts. Oliver leaned down and places a kiss on her neck. “Tell me Mrs. Queen…what are you doing out here staring across the city?”

Chloe tilted her head to the side before shift around so she was facing him, her face bright as what he’d just called her. She was pretty sure that was the first time he had called her Mrs. Queen since they he they realized they were married.

She beamed up at him, voice soft. “Just looking at the stars…out of all the time we’ve been together I don’t think I’ve ever taken the time to admire the view from up here…it’s gorgeous.” He nodded and leaned down whispering near her ear. “Not as gorgeous as the view I’m currently looking.”

She smirked and rolled her eyes affectionately. “I bet you say that to all the blondes.” He gave her a thoughtful look, “Hmm, only the ones I’m married to.” She grinned as she spoke her hand gripping his mid section. “Have I mentioned how happy I am about our new change in status?”

Oliver nodded. “You have, but I don’t mind hearing it so please feel free to say it as often as you like.” She chuckled and he grinned. He studied her for a second as his hand ribbed her back lightly. “The jet will be ready to take off tomorrow at eight in the morning…”

She nodded. “Good we can get an early start.” He nodded. A comfortable silence settled between them as they stood on the balcony gazing over the city together, enjoying the quiet of the moment. The longer they stood there arms wrapped around each other the more Chloe’s anticipation grew. She couldn’t wait to begin her life in Star City with Oliver. A new day had come…and Chloe couldn’t wait.
