Oliver was furious. Scratch that, he was whatever furious times a hundred was. He shook his head at the symbol that was scorched into the side of the watchtower, disgust coloring his face. He'd gone away for five days. How could so much happen in such a short amount of time?

He sighed and started getting some stuff together as he emailed the team. A quick breeze behind him alerted him to Clark's arrival. His body tensed, jaw clenching.

"Hey."

Oliver turned slowly and the blatant anger in his eyes startled Clark. He frowned.

"What's wrong Oliver?"

He let out a forced laugh and sneered at the taller man.

"Are you really asking me that right now?"

When Clark stayed silent Oliver just shook his head and grit his teeth.

"What are you doing here?"

He straightened up and returned Oliver’s glare.

"I came by to see Chloe."

"She isn't here."

"Do you know where she is?"

"Yes."

Clark made a face and gave him an 'I'm waiting' look before raising an eyebrow and letting out a short huff.

"Well?"

His phone beeped and he glanced down at it reading over the message from Victor before addressing Clark without looking at him.

"Well nothing Clark. I don't know what you were expecting, but you're not stepping a foot into the same room as Chloe until I'm okay with her being around you again."

"Excuse me?"

Oliver finally looked up and though his facial expression was composed, but his eyes were hard as they held Clark's.

"You heard me."

His fists balled at his sides as he tried to control his irritation with the blonde in front of him. Where the hell did Oliver get off telling him who he could and couldn't see?

"Where do you get off -"

"You hit her!"

Oliver's loud voice cut him off and it echoed through the room as he pointed toward Clark. He swallowed hard at the tone of his friend’s voice and the look of accusation on his face.

"Oliver-"

"Don't. I don't care if you were hyped up on every piece of red-k from here to Timbuktu. You hit my pregnant girlfriend Clark. Did you happen to forget that little fact when you were swinging those gorilla arms of yours around?"

He slouched slightly and sighed. He had hoped that Chloe wouldn't tell Oliver what happened, but he was kidding himself. There were no secrets between those two. He shrugged his shoulders lamely as he spoke.

"It was an accident. I would never consciously hurt Chloe. You know that."

Oliver pursed his lips together.

"You know I used to think that too, but now I'm not so sure."

Clark glared at him arms crossing over his chest in a defensive posture.

"You know, I'm not the only one in the wrong here. You and Chloe had weapons built that could kill me and then hid them from me!"

Oliver rolled his eyes.

"Yes, Clark we did in case Zod and the Kandorians got powers, which by the way if you hadn't noticed Zod did. Oh yeah, and thanks for destroying 75 percent of them."

They stood there both angry and hurting, the lines between them clearly draw. Clark shook his head.

"You know what, I came here to apologize to Chloe, not to talk to you. I'll just call her and I'm sure she won't mind telling me where she is."

He turned and Oliver's voice traveled toward him.

"Go ahead, she doesn't have her phone, I do. Emil put her on bed rest for a few days because of what happened. I swear Clark, if something happens to our baby because you can't control your anger issues it's something I'll never forgive you for."

The venom with which he spoke sent Clark reeling. The thought that he could be responsible for the loss of their child took him back to when his mother was pregnant and she'd lost the baby. That had been his fault too, or at least it had felt like his fault at the time. He'd never wish anything like that on Chloe.

Oliver finally saw the seriousness of the situation hitting Clark. He stumbled back slightly a look of horror crossing his face as he glanced back at him.

"Will they be okay?"

"Everything seems okay right now, but Emil said the next couple of days are critical."

Clark nodded, voice soft.

"Can I see her? Please Oliver."

He studied the taller man for a few minutes before the tension eased out of his body, voice tired, but no longer angry.

"No, not right now. Don't...I get it. I get that you need to make sure she's okay, but right now I have to do what's best for my family and that's keeping her away from you for right now. She doesn't need the added stress."

Clark wanted to yell at Oliver and demand to see Chloe, but he understood where his friend was coming from. If the situation had been reversed and it was Lois, he'd probably be acting the same way.

"Okay...I respect that. Will you at least tell her how sorry I am?"

"She's with Lois right now telling her about the baby, but I'll pass it along when I see her."

He nodded.

"Thanks."

Oliver gave him a curt not and Clark let out a heavy breath before speeding away. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It had been difficult to keep his anger in check, but he knew Chloe didn't want them fighting so for her he behaved...mostly. As he went back to grabbing some computer stuff and emailing on his phone he wondered how things were going with Lois.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Chloe sat on Oliver's couch, blanket wrapped around her expectant look on her face as she watched for Lois's reaction.

Her mouth open and closed twice as she stared at her cousin wide eyed. Chloe was pregnant with Oliver’s baby.

The girl who said they were in a no strings, no complications relationship. It looked like their little friends with benefits arrangement was over.

Chloe watched Lois's eyes scrunch together brows furrowing, frown on her face. She shot up out of her seat and started pacing in front of Chloe.

"I'm going to kill him."

Chloe rolled her eyes.

"Lois you can't kill Ollie."

"Wanna bet?"

Chloe smirked.

"I didn't mean you can't I meant you can't. I don't know the first thing about kids. I need Oliver."

She snorted crossing her arms over her chest as she faced Chloe.

"What in the world makes you think Oliver knows anymore about kids then you do?"

She shrugged.

"I'm sure he doesn't, but it's nice knowing there's someone else as clueless I am. Look Lo' calm down...sit. I can't go chasing around after you."

She stopped moving, confusion filling her face.

"What are you talking about cuz?"

Chloe sighed.

"There was a small accident while Oliver was away and my doctor put me on bed rest for a couple of days just to be cautious."

Lois felt a pang in her chest at her cousin’s admission. She sat down and reached for Chloe's hand.

"Everything's gonna be fine Chlo."

Chloe took a deep breath to calm her emotions and nodded, tears in her eyes.

"I know...I know. I just...god Lo I didn't realize."

"Didn't realize what?"

Chloe glanced up at the confusion in her voice and placed a hand over her stomach.

"I didn't realize how much I wanted this baby until I could have lost it. What kind of person does that make me?"

Lois shifted so she was sitting next to Chloe arm wrapped around her as she spoke softly.

“It makes you normal Chloe. Anyone in your position would be feeling the same way. I mean a baby…it’s a whole new person that you’re responsible for. It’s a big deal, but you know what? I think you’ll make a great mom.”

Chloe raised a disbelieving eyebrow at her cousin.

“Lois I killed my goldfish.”

She scrunched her nose and waved Chloe off.

“I think that fish was defective besides you’re gonna have Oliver there and me and Smallville. Speaking of which have you told him yet?”

Chloe shifted uncomfortably and nodded without making eye contact with Lois.

“Uh yeah a week or so ago accidentally.”

Lois shook her head.

“I can’t believe he didn’t tell me. Oh he’s gonna get it.”

Chloe chuckled and Lois made a face as the elevator doors to the penthouse opened. They glanced up and caught sight of Oliver walking in with bags in both hands. He glanced up and froze at the glare Lois sent his way.

You.”

Oliver gave her a nervous smile.

“Me…why are you still here?”

“Why wouldn’t I still be here. I was waiting for you to get home. You knocked up my cousin Oliver!”

He nodded and gave half a shrug.

“Yeah…my bad.”

Chloe bit her lip to keep from laughing and Lois sent him a look that could kill as she pointed at Chloe.

“She got hurt, and now she’s on bed rest. If you think I’m leaving you’re out of your mind.”

Oliver groaned and placed the bags down before moving toward the couch, making sure to avoid Lois, and placing a kiss against the side of Chloe’s head.

“Hey, how you feeling?”

She smiled up at him.

“I’m doing good.”

Lois rolled her eyes.

“Break it up love birds. I’m going to run to the Talon and grab some stuff for you Chlo. I’ll get some movies and junk food and be back in a little bit.”

Chloe gave her a warm smile.

“You really don’t have to do all that Lo’.”

“It’s fine. I’ll be back in a little bit.”

She reached down giving Chloe a hug before slapping Oliver on the arm as she disappeared into the elevator. He frowned rubbing his arm as he plopped down next to her. She turned and moved toward him. He lifted an arm and her body relaxed again him.

“You sure you’re feeling okay Sidekick?”

“Right as rain. Were you able to get everything?”

He shook his head in amusement. No matter what was going on being connected to Watchtower and making sure everyone was okay would always come first to Chloe. It’s one of the things he loved most about her.

“I got most of it. If you need anything else I can always go back. I emailed the guys I’m thinking we can get them all out here for a meeting in a couple weeks. Let them in on what’s going on.”

She watched his eyes drift to her stomach and she nodded.

“Good idea.”

The silence was comfortable as they sat together each lost in their own thoughts. Oliver’s quiet voice broke through the silence.

“I saw Clark.”

Her body tensed.

“Oh?”

“Yeah, he wanted me to tell you he’s sorry.”

She nodded calmly, but he felt her grip on him tighten. He knew that she still wasn’t okay with what had happened, but she was trying to deal with it in her own way and he’d respect that.

“Clark and his apologies…”

Oliver smirked.

“Tell me about it. So how much time do you think we have before Lois comes back?”

Chloe laughed.

“Knowing Lois it’ll be a while.”

He gave her a sideways glance and nodded toward the TV.

“Movie.”

“Only if I can pick.”

Oliver pursed his lips together amusement in his eyes.

“That’s acceptable with one stipulation. We’re not watching the Princess Bride. You’ve made me watch it seven times. Anything else.”

She pouted and let out a heavy sigh.

“Fine. Catch and Release. And I could go for some ice cream and can you hook up the computers so I can get online and check in with Dinah? She’s on a solo mission I just want to see how she’s doing.”

Oliver gave her a look before getting up and shaking his head.

“Anything else I can get you princess Chloe?”

She could see the humor on his face and she rolled her eyes.

“You refuse to let me get off the couch and then you’re going to complain when I ask you to do stuff? I’m perfectly capable getting my own stuff.”

“No, I was only kidding. Keep your deliciously round ass on that sofa Professor or you and me are gonna throw down. I’ll order Chinese, you order the movie on Demand and I’ll plug everything in to outlets. I left the bag right by you so you can start powering up the computers.”

She nodded, leaned over and grabbing her laptop as he disappeared from sight. She smiled as she powered up the computer before glancing around Oliver’s apartment. He had been so amazing since he got back from Star City.

More so then usual. After everything that happened with Clark, she was glad she had Oliver by her side helping her. For the past day or so things had almost been dare she say it domestic.

The thought made her stomach flip flop and heart race. The scariest part was she could definitely get used to this…She sighed to herself. Chloe had a feeling that things between her and Oliver were about to get very interesting and she couldn’t wait.

  2. “I think that fish was defective" I lost count of how many fish died in my care growing up. I was seriously bad with pets. My sister lost the school bird under my watch. It was tragic. Very nice follow up. I liked that Oliver was able to draw out true remorse from Clark. And as usual, your Chlo-Lo moments are fabulous.

  7. Anonymous-

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This is a series of stories based around Oliver and Chloe.

I'm not going to be going into Clark all that much. I didn't like how he was written at all in season 9. In my opinion he fell short of he hero he shoudl have been.
